You can get a nice replica one from Pete Veight $800.00 I believe is what there going for. One of the best ones Ive seen.Pete a longtime wingcar owner used a original to duplicate.Originals are pricey.Guy needed one for a hemi daytona. And sold it for$3K

  Superbird/Daytona Scissor Jack Handles
« on: July 03, 2007, 02:47:32 PM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I finally got the pivot pieces today to make up the handles.  I will try to make a few handles to take to Carlisle.  I did not make it to the Winged Warrior meet in N.C., my dad ended up in the hospital and I had to take care of a few personal things.  Look for my White Hemi Superbird or stop by at Tony's Parts, B-16 in the venders area.  I will be selling Scissors jacks, handles and Daytona hold down plates.  You can also e-mail me direct, petev8@webtv.net with any questions.

Hey C-stripe,

Just out of curiousity but did you pick that car up out of the Northwest, about 3 years ago? I remember going to look at that car for sale a few years back.

C_stripes

Where did you look at it?

Shocking isnt wingcar parts supply and demand .I say are made of unobtainum.Back window trim goes for near that. You be shocked to see what this all went for.

I have one of Pete (Wingnut's) jacks and it is dead on to an original.  I Would recommend his

nascarxx29

Im with John TPR Pete gets my vote .He didnt take a close jack and modify .Using a original he duplicated it from the ground up.And Petes skills are well known to wing car owner as his known builds include. The green 69 daytona convertible. The white sunroof superbird etc .Personally I think $3K for something thats not used or hardly seen in the trunk is crazy .But being what a completed hemi daytona is worth and that was the last needed piece to complete restoration.Thats what I was offered

Thanks for the endorsements!  I have sold 12 jacks so far and everybody loves them! I am taking Christmas orders, so those of you that need them give a hint or two to your spouse!

I made my own using a NOS jack from another Vehicle and modified it , so the thread count is a Little different ! I carry a lightweight alum racing jack in a bag , point is who in their right mind would use an orig detailed jack to raise their car . I will sell the NOS jacks brand new in box for 250 each , I will tell you how to alter it , and it will look like this .These are late 60's NOS jack not newer after market junk that are paper thin and not even close to being right ! Wingnut makes a great part , if your poor like me , you have to get creative !!!

It all in the little details that depicts the correctness of a jack. The green 1 is a $5.00 swap meet item .The red 1 is a original the black 1 a copy

not newer after market junk that are paper thin and not even close to being right !

the originals were very thin...most of the jacks you'll find have larger plates (like yours) after more than a few collapsed, i'm sure.

i'm 2 for 3 with jacks--they sit in the garage attic.  i wouldn't feel comfortable STANDING on one of those flimsy pieces of crap.
