scratchchin So does this mean that there will be some Talladega's and Cyclone Spoilers at the MM show to be able to do some possible laps as well?  2thumbs

I don't know if I can make it over for the wednesday or thursday, but like usual I'll be packing up the car Thursday night and driving over EARLY on Friday. Probably rolling out of Indy around 3 AM like usual.

Sounds like a fun time brewing this year.  I haven't bugged Rich in a couple of weeks - guess I'll have to do that sometime soon.

What about the Drive-In Movie Theater in Cuba, MO?  It's not too far from Rich's place, but I don't know what their schedule is (might be weekends only).

If you and/or Rich need help making arrangements, etc., just let me know.

 2thumbs

P.S.  Stu- the City Museum is indeed great for kids, but most adults need to take a heavy dose of Tylenol before & after going.

Word from Rich is that the Mercs and Fords are included at MM with laps on the track and their own judge classes.

Wed & Thurs have been given to me for my assignment and Then will turn over to Rich on Thurs. eve.

I had thought about the drive-in at Cuba and will check it out, often by that time of year drive-ins are only open on weekends, but you never know and I think that everyone has always had a really good time at Litchfield at the drive-in.  I probably won't be able to contact the owners until spring since they are closed now.

66 has so many things to do and I will be researching things in the coming weeks, We have been out on MO 66 and had a blast but it has been several years and things change as I found out on the IL plans when a couple of really neat places had ceased to exist. Cry

So any ideas are welcome and I will check them out, so I very much appreciate feedback from everyone.

And Gene thanks for the offer, you will probably be taken up on it at some point.

So grab the  popcrn and we will being putting together a really great time to be had in MO and western IL

Message from Rich Bolzenius

We are tentatively going to have both Sat. & Sun. on the track open to all Aero Cars.

This year we are doing an Aero car reunion which does not require membership in a club to take part in the events planned.

DSAC is having their National Meet in conjunction with this Aero Reunion.

So all Aero Cars are welcome

Hi, does anyone have any information on the hotel for Friday, Saturday & Sunday by the track? I would love to go for the full five days but that would be too tough to pull off with my family obligations and budget.

Thanks,

Sherri,
I'm In!!!!!! cheers
I just made my hotel reservations, but they had the block of rooms ending Friday night. Is there another hotel that we will all be trying to get into for Saturday night? I went ahead and booked in Union Mo through Sat night, but I can change that if needed.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Or you can stay out in Union on Friday night as well, but definately want to be closer to the track for Saturday night. Its a little drive from Union to the track on Saturday morning, I think about 65-80 miles? Not sure, I just know it seemed like quite a while when I was cruising along by myself.

It's probably 55 miles to the track from Union (Mapquest says 54.05 miles), almost all interstate driving.  Most folks do "relocate" to the Illinois side for Friday & Saturday nights, to cut down on the drivetime Saturday morning.  That is, those who don't hang around my shop until 2am looking at paperwork, pictures & parts... Tongue

I'm not complaining though, as I got some free help loading up the R/T out of the deal.

Sure seems like a longer drive than that when your humming along at 3,800 rpm on a dark highway in a car without a radio. Seems like it takes forever.  cheers

funny I didn't see this post--

driving to the DSAC meet this past fall I plugged my Shure in-ear headphones into my iPod and it made the trip a LOT better.  Hell--it killed most of the road noise!

Stuart

Fairview Heights is on Interstate 64 Maybe alittle over 5 miles from the track.  So when leaving the track you go south and exit onto 64 east and then go I think maybe 3 exits and then the hotel is a little over 1/4 mile north of the exit ramp.

So basically instead of going NE from the track you will go E.

Fairview Heights has the big mall, lots more restaurants.   The hotel is on the north side of the interstate and the mall is South.

Danny

No we have always been at Collinsville at the Holiday INN, because of the date change it was unavailable for MM weekend because of other things in the area.

Brent & I were over at FVH a couple of weeks ago and stopped by the Four Pts.  It looks like a very nice hotel and the meeting room area is very  nice and has a entrance without going through the lobby if someone is not staying there and comes for the info meetings. Talked to the girl at the checkin desk and they are all very excited to have MM groups there, some of them used to work at the Holiday INN and so they enjoy all the cars Etc.   It has a very large parking lot and if needed also a grassy area for trailers.
