I looked at the car about 8 weeks after I had bought my 500. If I hadn't just bought my 500 at that time, I'd have that car. Its not that bad. Its not great, but it definately isn't the worst project I've seen.

daytonalo

I agree , I resurrect worse cars every day , but 90 k for a Daytonal without drivetrain and needs resto ??

Larry

69_500

Right $90K for one without the driveline, and needs restoration.

Do you see that many more up for sale that need restored? Or for quite a bit less?

If so please forward all information along to me if you'd be so kind.

I talked to them as well about it... But they weren't interested in a trade for the '68... Yeap, I tried to make a deal... Not sure I want another project to that extreme......... The firm buys/sells classic muscle....  Seem straight up team...

I know the previous owner who sold them this car for $60K a couple of years ago. The now famous old wooden shed it was "found" in is about 5 miles from me.

Looks like a quick sandblast job and a case of flat black Krylon adds $29.5K to the value of a Daytona project car :shruggy:

That's a Gene Gregory nose cone on it, by the way...

If that's the case, then the VIN# and the stamping part # are the same!   ;)

B9400592 vs B9400592   :scratchchin:

That's what it looks like to me, it got hit twice because the first one didn't meet specifications on clarity..

daytonalo

Your correct , must have been a Friday car !!

69_500

I went and looked at that car about 4 years ago. When he first opened up the door I was thinking there was a chance that it was one of my dad's old cars. But as it turned out it wasn't. Not a horrible car, but it was right after I had bought the 500, and there was no way I could talk my wife into 2 cars in a span of 8 weeks or so.

Place does look straight up, but that price is a little "optimistic" if you ask me...

BUT - that matching-#s A12 superbee for $75k  :scratchchin: might have to make a phone call

what #'s A12?

69.5 6-pack cars are coded with A12 on their fender tags / broadcast sheets, similar to the Daytona & C500's A11 code.

What happened to the Daytona Gean Gregory had about 8-9 yrs ago? It looked kinda like the one that is for sale on this thread. The passenger rear quarter was messed up ,looked like a wheel came off and the nose had rusted off. I believe he got the car from Zachary near Henderson,Ky. I looked at the car when Gean had it but thought it was high $ at the time. If I new then what I know now! Brent

69_500

HEY BRENT,

If you do by any chance at all, come accross the one that Gene Gregory had that had the problem around the rear wheel, DEFINATELY LET ME KNOW. It used to be my dad's car. And your right the wheel did come off while going down the road. As someone had loosened up the lug nuts trying to steal the rims, and apparently gave up before removing the tire. Dad got in the car, started driving, made it about 2 miles then the rear wheel came off.

notabird

Be glad to give you any info if I come up with anything. Brent
