It's good to hear Mike because it was definitely the philosophy of the guy you bought the car from.  I can't speak for any owners before him but the last little while that car was no trailer queen and it would have been a shame for that to happen now.  :Twocents:

alright as much as we want to see it.

That would be a hell of a matchup - esp. since Goldberg's bird clone is going to have a nascar 358" in that beast...

I happen to know Angrier has a pretty healthy bullet in the chamber as well.

Jim, the 471 stroker in "Angrier", is that a Source 440 supplied stroker kit, and if so how many miles do you have on it before you sold it to Mike (Mr Angry)?

Stroker kits are for pussies. I spec'd and sourced everything myself.  :poke:

Seriously, back in '02/'03 when I built it, there were relatively few kits on the market. The Chinese forged stuff really hadn't hit the market yet, so you had to start with an original crank unless you wanted to spend BIG bucks.

I lucked into a sweet deal on some Eagle BBC H-beam rods, and basically built the motor around those. I also lucked into a 400 block that had already been machined and prep'd. From there I scrounged-up a forged 413 crank and had it offset ground for the BBC rods. Ross stocks a piston for the application.

There was over 10K miles on that motor. I drove the heck out of it.

I guess my talent as a engine builder will now be on very public display. I hope it holds together. Lord knows I torture tested it myself.  :popcrn:

Jim, I remember seeing your car in Indiana, at the HR power tour, what was your QTR Mile times when you took it out on the track? I know you didn't make too many runs that day cause you had alternator problems?also what was your best ET? at any track? inquiring minds want to know?plus were getting anxious waiting for Mike's pics of "ANGRIER"

Hell yea' it does! Well, we'll be running it in this years Bullrun Rally from Calgary to Phoenix in June. There are A LOT of big guns showing up to this including a Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo and Maclaren SLR. Looks wise though... none of those will be able to hold a candle to what we're building, plus with it's current mill and the gearing we're running along with some other top secret "evasion" goodies this thing should be one fast MUTHA' F***ER that may be able to just slip right underneath the radar... and I mean that literally.  :2thumbs:

So how did you get hold of the stealth material from area 51 :o .........call it the Angrier Stealth Daytona...........  :icon_smile_cool:

Just under the radar,
Steve

$6,164 in 2002 dollars?  Holy Smokes!!   :o

That's CHEAP for what was essentially a carb to pan build. I priced it out against the kits available at the time and I was a couple hundred ahead on the rotating assembly. Bought a lot of the parts, including the heads, with a 10% discount code from Summit.

Here's a video from HRPT 2007. It was 95 degree heat with zero track prep. I think my 60 fts were like 2.5 seconds. I was pedaling through second gear.

Never had a chance to run it on the strip with the automatic. I'm sure it would have been quicker. I ran it against a G-tech a couple times with something like a 12.3 at 112.

Played around a couple of times on the local 1/8th mile track running a bunch of 8.20s. Finally started to get it to hook with some 1.8s, but I really didn't have a clutch that was suited for drag racing, and I was running an 8.75 rear, so I quit before I broke something expensive.

Mike, that color looks like Hot Rod black by either HOK or Dupont to me. Maybe primer sealer also, but I'm gonna say it's gonna look Gothic. I painted a F/B recently  Hot Rod black w/gloss black ghost flames. The owner said do what you think I meaning him would like, its now in a car this weekend. So, I guess I did good!
Can't wait to see the rest of your new ride now.  :2thumbs:
