Did you guys see in the news last week about Leonard Wood restoring David Pearson's #21 1971 Mercury?  David took it out for a few laps with Carl Edwards tagging along and showed them how it used to be done.  It's supposed to go into the Darlington Museum.  Has anyone seen some decent photos of it posted anywhere?  Or is there a member that lives nearby that can swing by and get some?

I'd love to see that car again in great detail!!   :drool5:
I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

After the exhibition run, Pearson really told it like it is when asked what he thought about modern NASCAR.  The clip is on You Tube.   Pearson still is "the man".

That '71 Merc looks so much racier than that crapbox they run today.

David Pearson is the man!  And his comments are dead-on about NASCAR.  It has no personality anymore.

Love his comments about the new NASCAR. Its nothing compared to what it used to be. Heck its not anything when compared to how it was 10 years ago let alone 40 years ago.
