hi guys.

i thought you guys would enjoy seeing my friend Jack's wing car . he is the president of the United Street Racers . they followed in the footsteps of big Willie and other serious street racers . they raced down ave P and willow Ave . here in nj . that was serious shit . big money races or races for pink slips. i raced there too. i raced a 69 charger and a 69 gto . i lost the charger in a pink slip race . then won it back two months later when he blew the motor in a race against my gto. things where differant then . you could get a good car for $500. if you look in the top right of the first picture . you will see his b5 blue superbird . it's been up on that lift for over 15 yrs. last time i was there there where 4 wing cars and two hemi cars in his shop. his car was built in the 70's and still looks good . pearl white with big metal flakes . very retro

Damn, that is sweet. Old school int. Rear quarter panels are flared, metalic paint job you can see for miles, let alone a SuperBird, or shall I say a couple.
Yep, I miss owning a charger now, let alone passing up a SuperBird for $1600.00 back in 1984 that ran.  :brickwall:
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Cable drive tach screwed down to the top of the dash.  Imagine doing that today to your four speed Superbird.  (not to mention cutting a hole in the hood for carb clearance)  :icon_smile_big:

no the car has no nose on it just a wing. yea the rules where differant back then and it   was a fun time. what i can remember of it . there was a lot of partying going on too . racing was my life back then . i totalled a bunch of cars . young and driving fast is a bad combonation.

It's bad enough to do this to a roadrunner, but would be much worse if this were a superbird.
And people are giving me a hard time for converting my triple black R/T SE into a daytona.  ;D

Sad to see the bird up there, not being driven. I can guarantee you that if I owned it, it would definitely get driven...a lot.

several yrs back i tried to buy it off him . i showed up there with a case full of cash. he told me the only reason he opened a shop was to buy a real superbird. if he sold it he would have to close the shop.  :icon_smile_wink:

Rene, I remember seeing that customized Road Runner with the wing a very long time ago. The molded in antennas, the interior, & the flares on the quarters stands out to me. The only two places I may have seen it, was either in an old car magazine that featured customs, or the NY Custom Auto Show at the NY Coliseum. Any idea if it's been in either?

Quotewas either in an old car magazine that featured customs

i know it was in several magazines back in it's hay day and i believe it was at the NYC custom rod and rail show several times. at the NY Coliseum . i use to go to that show every year when i was a kid . i would enter the model building contest they had.

no , not the same car . he's building this one from scratch for some rich guy.  big money pro street car.  i think it's the same guy that bought the big Willie daytona but I'm not sure.

Quotedamn that Dude has some mopar hardware in  there    .. ...

you have no idea. he's been saving rare mopar parts since the 70's. he has 2 barns full of parts and several basements  . his shop is very big but you can;t get in it because of all the parts . he has over 20 motors 440's and hemi's . and over 20 rare cars . that need full restoration. he's my go to guy when i need a hard to find part.
