Here is a shot of a Daytona on display at the Wisconsin State Fair - probably August 1969.   My guess is the cars are from Dodge City, a Milwaukee area dealer.   Note the Swinger and the A12 lift off hood car in the background.   Also check out the whitewalls and black steelies.  It's possible they were switched out for some reason.

Very nice Doug. So any ideas on what car it was in the picture? Figured since it was local to you there in Wisconsin that you'd have some sort of inside scoop on the car.

There was one HemiDaytona listed has having shipped new to Wisconsin, although there's always the slight possibility that another one was dealer-traded into the state.

409066 is Jerry S.'s car, which is now painted black.  HemiAuto car.  I had it listed as V2, but that's one that I don't have the fender tag information on to say for certain (looks more like R4 to me  shruggy ).  The car was listed as having been shipped to Milrace Motors in Thiensville, Wisconsin, but even if that is the same car there could have been any number of reasons why it didn't sell from that particular dealership.

There does not appear to be a dealer label on the deck lid or bumper.

Jerry's car definitely sold new from Milrace.    That is not this car.    The paint on Jerry's  car was so bad on delivery, that the dealer repainted the car before selling it.     Milrace was also a smaller dealership, whose roots were in foreign cars.    If notice the dealer plate, it ends in "Z".  Wisconsin dealer plates start with "A", so Z could mean it's dealer demo plate #26  - which means it was a larger dealer.

There really were only three Daytonas on the "list" in Milwaukee proper.   All the other cars are in outlying areas or were small dealers.

L409069 - Wayne Perkins' silver car from Peters Dodge - so it's not that one.
L390025 - V2, C6X car from University Dodge.  This car was wrecked in the early 70's but still exists.  Similar shape to the green car that went to Australia.
L410794 - unknown owner, from Dodge City.    Original color unknown to me.

Nice picture, love thoses old photo's.  I'm not a Daytona expert, is that a 69 hood?  Hood pins standard?  The turn signal looks different or it's that the black insert the Chargers have is not on the Daytona's?  Also I love how the wing part is tilted downward.

1969 Charger RT/SE - I remember standing in the Dodge showroom in 1969 drooling over the new Charger.  My parents bought a Chevelle next door at the Chevy dealer.  ( still getting consoling over that )   Wanna trade your car?  My new site:  http://www.CARSNOTFORSALE.com   A big thank you to my wife, for posting for me when I'm not home to do so.  Thanks, honey.

The Daytona uses a 1970 Charger hood, and yes the hood pins were standard on a Daytona. The wing can be tilted in either direction if one would so choose to do so. Although today many of the bolts are frozen up, and so the wings don't tend to tilt too much.

That's what I was going to say.... 15inchers = Hemi (I know, not always, but usually back then, before you restored a car, or gave a darn..... blah blah blah..)
