hey guys . finally got to work on the tona a bit . i painted the inside of the nose and lower valance with flat black epoxy primer . looks good. i bolted the valance to the bottom of the radiator support and installed the spoiler . i went with a 2 inch longer than stock spoiler . so it looks more like a nascar spoiler . I'm not happy with the angle of it . so i have to take it off and adjust it. i also made templates and drilled the fender scoop holes . i have to sand the scoops so they fit flush on the fender . I'm trying to get it done before winter comes but life keeps getting in the way . Rene

Nice to see you getting something accomplished, you lazy bum. I decided to not cut the holes under the fender scoops. One of the daytona owners stated that he had a lot of trouble with muddy water coming up through them while driving in the rain. I seem to run into rain almost every time I go to a car show out of town. In fact, we ran into rain going up and coming back from Branson last week. Feels like Seattle around here sometimes.

Sweet looking nose and I love the size of the spoiler hi Dane i was very happy with the fit of the stinger nose . the headlight doors , not so much . they need a little help to get them right. I've spent the last two days sitting around with a cool beverage . watching my partner do body work on the daytona . I'm not good at bodywork . he is. it's getting there . more pics soon. RENE

Just don't expect me to come up ther and buff it. My arms feel like they're going to fall off from buffing this big black monster. One more black car might kill me.

Don't think for a minute that I didn't consider flat black. It's just so hard to shoot large areas of flat black without getting some trash in it. There's no good way to get rid of the trash without disturbing the flat black finish. I finally polished the finish on my clone to the point that I'm satisfied with it. Since I already have a set of Daytona stripes in gloss black, I'm now considering painting the wing gloss black and using the gloss black decals that I already have. You should be able to catch me now. I'm going to move the car into storage in the front shop later today to keep anything from damaging the new finish. I have to get back on customer work for a while. For some strange reason they expect their cars finished in a reasonable amount of time. My motto has always been... "We promise fast service no matter how long it takes.".
