Getting ready to purchase some tires to go with steel 15 inch wheels...what would be the right size for front and back on 15 x 8 inch steel wheels??
best way to get a hold of me is brushcollege@msn.com...thanks

PocketThunder

Are you looking for the same size on all 4 corners?  Or a little bit bigger in back? :popcrn:

well i'm not an expert in the 15's, i'm more of a 17's guy, but i would search thru the Tires section of the site for the best 15's for a Charger.  I suppose this doesnt help too much.

275's rub up front, 255's clear all around.

i'd go with the same at all four corners, as you only need one spare, can rotate the tires, etc.  Marty will wind up with 255's next year because the fronts got cut up by the fenders...

I have 275, on the back and I think 235 or 255 on the front of this.

275 60 15s work on the back, but are 2" taller than stock...so they raise your rearend gear ratio effectively.

Some say 255 60 15s will work on the front and some say they won't. Measuring is the best bet. I know that 235 60 15s always work up front on 15x7.

I have 255/60/15's on all 4 corners with 15x7 wheels & no rubbing issues

If you're looking for 275's in the rear, the usual complimenting front tire size is 235's  (same height)

From BFGoodrich's website--Radial T/A tire specs.  I post these as everyone and their brother runs them...

Remember unless you substitute a higher aspect ratio when dropping tread width you'll always end up with a shorter tire.  so 275/60 out back@28" matches up OK with 235/70@28"

I was told this Daytona had 15x 7 Magnums and 275-60-15 Square without rubbing .

WingCharger

My Daytona clone will eventaully wear these size tires, front and back:

Except in Recalls. I just need to figure out what size he is running in the front and back, and if they make Recalls in that size. Probably not. :brickwall:

Where exactly do the 275's rub on the front on Marty ? Is it something I could move or modify on my clone? The fender brace? Front Valance? Inner fender? I'd really like to go 275's all the way around on 15X8 Magnums.  :coolgleamA:

daytonalo

15x7 are a stretch with 275-60-15 . If they rub on the frame rail on lock to lock  only, I could live with that .

they rub on the outer fender, too, right at the top.  there's that tab for the bracing that has actually serrated the tread away on the corner blocks.

trim the fender, different offset wheels...i don't know.  i'm just going to drop a tire size ;)
