Captured in 1966,  this photo essay details the inner workings of Nichels Engineering - a facility once dubbed by Stock Car Racing magazine as Chrysler's "Go Fast Factory".

Very Cool indeed! I wonder if the black valve covers vs the orange were to identify either different teams or speedway vs short track motors. Or maybe they used what they had!

I've been watching for that book from LaDow for while and as far as I have been able to find out, it hasn't been released yet.  Has anyone here been able to order a copy?

I stopped in at Terry Nichels' shop this week, what a great guy.
He told me that Sam McQuagg passed away last week (Sam was the NASCAR rookie of the year in '65, and the first to run a '66 Charger with the rear spoiler).

Paul Goldsmith called while I was there - Terry fixes Paul's snowplows that he uses at the airport.

Hi Dave, my understanding is that Paul and Terry are pretty close.   Here is a nice shot of Terry in his Charger 500.
