I have made the call to get the code - I'll post it when I get the exact match that was used on Tim Wellborn's Daytona.

OK - Here it is, Omaha Orange per the Wellborn Daytona

PPG 60436

This is the code for all paint types....eg. - If you want acrylic enamel it would be DAR60436,
If you want base clear it would be that same number with their base/clear prefix (not sure what that is at the moment).

or

Sikkens Auto Base Plus

Paint - Parts - Cummulative

338 - 200.0 - 200.0
573 - 232.4 - 432.4
297 - 194.8 - 627.2
00  - 27.6  -  654.8
977 - 57.0 - 711.8

This is pretty well Race Hemi Orange.

Good Luck!

Wasn't there more than one orange used for the GL's over the years?

I like Daisy's oranges...   But I digress. I think you are right on the GL colors - more than one.
