Love the leaf springs, so many people just paint them black.

I like them too. I coated them in rust bullet. That stuff is super tough.

What colour were they from Hamtramck?

The car is going in for the trunk floor to be spot welded in today, will get the factory look.

I do believe starting in '69, the norm on leaf springs was they were painted black. Before that, they were left natural.

Thanks Troy. I couldn't see any evidence of paint before they were blasted, just lots of surface rust. From that and what you say, I figure mine were natural as the car is a November 68 production.

The full quarters finally arrived after 3 months on a boat. I couldn't bring myself to put the Goodmark ones on this car and was worth the wait, the AMD products are awesome. Great for the hobby.

We cleaned up under the old quarters and sat the new ones in place. Still have a bit more clean up to do, and quarters will then get fitted properly and spot welded. The tail panel is just clamped for photos...

Cleaned up, before Brunox epoxy goes on:

Hey Troy,
The passengers side fitted real well, the drivers was a bit tighter and needed a bit more massaging but nothing too drastic. I had a set of Goodmark ones I was going to put on the car. Sitting them side by side, there's just no comparison.

Looking good... great progress, and more on the way soon now that the AMD quarters have arrived.  Wise decision not to use the Goodmuck  :D  stuff after the lesson that I and others learned using their "official restoration" parts... not that I would ever hold a grudge.

Great work... keep it up!

Some new photos. A huge amount of work has gone in to get her to this stage. Lucky to have old school panelbeating done here, all welding, hammering ,filing, shrinking....no body filler here.

The quarters are finally on. We will do spot welds around the outsides next and do the roof join and around the plug with lead like it was done at Creative Industries. Pretty happy with how it's turning out.
