Daisy

i have a 'new to me' '06 charger.
love it!!!

this morning as i was pulling out of the drive way... water comes pouring in!
it seems to be coming from just behind the 'upper console' .... where the sunglasses caddy is.
my sun roof was securely shut, and we have had days of rain - non stop.

any input??
:'(

This website is geared more towards old Chargers of the 60's and 70's, maybe try your question at lxforums.com ..?..

Welcome otherwise Daisy..

Welcome Daisy.  We'll be nice.  My 06 and my bride's 08 Chargers both have sunroofs, and sit outside.  Neither leak.  Have you recently had a windshield replaced?

Daisy

okay.. so i can play??  :2thumbs:

i have only had her for a couple of months....
nothing has been replaced, she only has 25,000 miles too!
we just returnde from a road trip, and it rained the entire way.

not sure what is going on.

Hi and welcome

Ive never really looked at the Charger sunroofs all that close, so I dont know if they are the same as the Cadillacs but I will assume they are close. Try cleaning out the drains for the sunroof. If they are like the Cadillcas there should be 4 little holes two in the front corner and two in the back corner. Retract the sunroof and you should see them. Take an air nozzle and blow out the drains, then pour a little water in there to be sure they are cleaned out, if not keep doing it until you see the water draining out from under the car.

Current MoPars:
1968 Charger. 318 Out of commission:(
1975 Dart Swinger. 225 Pops daily ride.
1990 Dodge Ram. 360FI My daily ride.
2007 Magnum R/T. 5.7 Family wagon.

Welcome aboard  :2thumbs:
I'd inspect the drains too...  :yesnod: If they plug up, and you park so it can collect. When you move the car all the water in the sun roof well will run right inside. If they are not plugged then the drain hose may have come loose.

isnt the sunroof sealed up from the interior?  shouldnt the water then run over the roof and down the side of the car?

Nope they use a channel around the opening inside the well to funnel the water to the drains. Old school pop ups sealed around the edge...well tried to seal.

Daisy

thank you!
i will investigate....never thought of a drain.

25,000 on an 06.  Is it still in warranty?

Daisy

it is still under warranty, i belive until dec of this year.
i checked the sunroof last night. could not see any drain issues..
the rain has not stopped, but so far no more water coming inside.

I'd get a warranty claim started on it then so that even if they can't find it right away it'll be on record.
