904 Trans Mods for Circle Track?

I was wondering if anybody has made the 904 into one forward and one reverse gear and what was the mods to do it? I was thinking of eliminating the planetary gears and just run the forward clutch, low reverse band and the high and reverse drum since you only need one gear on run in certain classes? Is it a feesable mod?
