I need to look at some reference photos, but there might be some Hemi-only frame reinforcements back by the spring shackle mounting point that are missing from that rear frame clip.

It might be a isolated case but a friend with the 440 4 speed chromed out daytona. That chassis has the known hemi reference areas.

Thumbs up from me for all the work Richard has kindly done for me in the past.

I wish I had a car of sufficient quality and rarity to send to [[[[JPC's......]]]]].

Here was the reinforcement plate I was thinking of - it's the triangular shaped gusset behind the spring shackle.  This picture is from my car, and you'll have to excuse the undercoat.  Makes it a little harder to see, but it's there.

Troy H. has some real good pictures of these reinforcements from his car too.

Wouldn't this plate still have been in place after they removed the trunk floor, extensions, etc.?

My '70 Hemi Charger has the same gussets.....I'll check my 2 '69's.

hemigeno

Here are the pictures in question, that I'm thinking should show reinforcement gussets if it's a Hemicar (the last one doesn't show much, but it's the only other one in the batch they posted in that thread).

Incidentally, does anyone know one of the gents mentioned later in the thread, Brett Torino?  Second time in the past month I've read that name.

hemigeno

OK, after looking at the photos a bit more, it's possible the reinforcement gussets are still there and just not visible in the pictures posted.  They would be between the framerails and the spring shackle member - not on the outside of the spring shackle member as I was first thinking.

My mistake  :slap:

I stumbled across those pictures .While on the UK wing website checking on the wingcars over there. No vin or any other details about the car.And couldnt PM anyone Im not registered on their site that has fees to join

Info on Brett Torino
http://money.cnn.com/2003/06/26/pf/autos/cuda/

The owner's view
For those very few who own of these cars, it's not about the money, said Brett Torino, a Las Vegas-based real estate investor.

"It's just extraodinary. It's a piece of art. It's American art that you drive," said Torino of his car collection.

Torino, who says he owns at least 20 Chrysler Corp. muscle cars, is one of the very few people to actually own a '71 Hemi Cuda convertible. He bought the partly dissassembled car last year for an amount that, he says, was less than $1 million. (Torino's claim of ownership was verified by other sources familiar with the car's purchase.) Torino also recently purchased the car used in the Nash Bridges TV show.

looks like he has same cars as Otis Chandler once owned

. As far as I am aware there is still only one Hemi Daytona here. As I answered previously, the photos show a car in the US that is being worked on by an English guy. More than that I don't think I should say.

nascarxx29

So your saying this car was never in the UK.And pictures are in the US ? What State in the US

Yes, yes and I'm not trying to be obscure or anything but I was asked by the person involved to be discrete about him and the car for whatever reason...
