Well, I'm getting close!  Couple weeks I hope.

I wanted to check with people that have done it before, see if I'm forgeting anything or need to do something before first start/break in.

I need to get/borrow an oil priming rod.  That's on the top of my list.  Also need to get the comp cams break in fluid.  Rotella diesel oil apparently is recommended for the break in...

Hooked up the tach today, since that'll be needed for break in.  What else regarding break in?

Regarding the first drive, I installed front discs; am currently working on the rear drums.  Still have to put the drivers seat in.   :icon_smile_cool:

Driveline is attached...  I don't know, anything special I should remember?

When you have the drill and long oil pump shaft turning, you need someone to slowly turn the crank by hand. Some oil holes in the cam bearings have to line up to get oil to the top of the engine.

Good luck.

definitely a must do, luckily i had the intake valley pan off when i did my first one back in 98, drill is turning and turning and slowing down but i dont see any oil anywhere
so i turn the crank about 1 inch and just like OLD Faithful oil starts shooting everywhere
if i had been doing it with the intake on i would of thought oil was getting on everything
