Calling all 70 Charger owners:

As you may know, the Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals is one of the premier Mopar car shows each year. And each year they celebrate the 40th anniversary of a model year. Two years ago it was the 1968 models, last year it was the 1969 models.........next year will be our turn as the 2010 Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 1970 Dodge Charger.....and of course those other 70 Chrysler models as well.

This presents us with a great opportunity to have the 1970 Dodge Charger Registry represented at the event. Both Chris and I will be there ( believe it or not we've never actually met ) and for me personally this will be the first major outing for my car. Our tentative plan is to have a large tent located in the midst of the 70 Chargers on display to act as our headquarters where 70 Charger owners can meet, relax and get to know eachother. Perhaps a large group photo. This is a great opportunity to have the single largest gathering of 70 Chargers since leaving the St. Louis Assembly Plant.

The following 70 Charger Registry Message Board thread will be be made "sticky" and will be the source for all info on our efforts to gather the clan in 2010. Hopefully with 9 months notice many of you can begin planning on how to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event.
http://1970chargerregistry.com/70messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=6473

As noted, both Chris and I will be there to greet the faithful. Mike (472 RT/SE) is tentative as he looks into the possibility of driving his plum crazy Hemi all the way from the Portland Oregon area. Please post on this thread if you will be attending and if you will be bringing your 70 Charger. We will keep an updated running tally of responses.

Here is the link to the Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals: July 9-11, 2010 in Calisle Pennsylvania.
http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/chrysler-nationals/

If you are bringing your car you'll need to register with Carlisle and under the Vistors section is a list of nearby hotels to consider.

** IMPORTANT ** When you register your car, in the registration form there is a spot to note affiliation to a car club....in the "Club Other" box please type in 1970 CHARGER REGISTRY. If we get enough registrants under the club name we can get the HQ tent for free.

Please post on the thread noted above if your are planning to attend, considering attending or have any questions, comments or suggestions about a 70 Charger Registry gathering at Carlisle in 2010. It's our year folks....let's take the opportunity to gather en-masse

Thank you

Chris, Mike and Don

Just a note, if they do like the last two years you won't be able to get a tent where they park the 70 Chargers as they put all 70 model year cars at the dealer display. People have complained vehemently about this in the past and, with all the E bodies, I don't see how they will all fit so maybe this will be the year it changes.

Even if your car isn't there, we want you to join in. I will also be 40 next year so maybe we could use this as my b-day party as well? Gifts will definitely be accepted...cash is always my favorite.  Wink

You could ask nicely if you want this stickied. Or do you plan on bumping it every day for the next 8 months?

No thanks. I figured 2 weeks should suffice to get adequate coverage on unread posts since last visit.

I don't remember the name of the hotel where everyone stayed last year, and liking beer is no problem at all... Especially around this bunch.   smilielol
