Billet Specialties street lite (black)15x10" with 4,5" backspace.  tires = Hoosier 295/60-15  (can`t find 5"bs on summit)

Front ? i have no idea.....please help. i`ve seen Hoosier  245 /60-15 on summit, maybe that will work in the front? but i dont know what kind of backspace and width i would need for the front?

Im about to order this stuff, so i would be more than happy i anyone would help me with this questions as soon as possible :popcrn:

A 15x10 with 4.5" backspace will most likely rub. I had 15x10 with a 5" backspace with a 295/50 tire and it just barely fit. As for the front go with a 15x8 with 4.5" of backspace with a 245/60 tire. Thats what I had and it fit great.

Ok, so maybe i should go for a 8" wheel instead of 10? and maybe a 275 tire? or will it work with 10" with 5,5 " BS? goddamn i think this stuff i difficult :'(  we have the metric system in Sweden, inches is difficult to calculate with when youre not used to it... :shruggy:

Thanks for the reply !

15x10 5in back space 295-50-15 will fit,5.5 back is better,my car has 10 s 5 in back & they clear.

Ok great so i Will be searching for 5,5"bs on a 10" rim then. I have seen the billet spec "street lite" in that combo but i cant seem to find the street lite in black in that dimensions.... Anybody know if it exists? Maybe just me missed on summits HomePage?

That depends entirely on the look you are after.  A 15x8 with a 275 tire will have that typical muscle car balloon look to the tire where a 15x110 with 295 wiull have straighter and flatter sidewalls.  I'm going for the 275 combo myself.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

If your on the metric system you should be using offset measurements which are much simpler to work with than backspace measurements.

Ok , anyway i ordered the 15x10" with 5,5 BS for the rear and the 15x8" with 4,5 BS to the front..  hope it will work with 295/60 in rear and 245/60 in the front.... :popcrn:

Hi again, do you guys think a Hoosier with 65 profile will work  in the back or will it rub?  i prefer 65 profile if its possible...

I went similar to user "mxzx440" so I can't really take credit for my choices although they are a little different is size.  My fronts are 17X7's where his were 17X8's. The backs are 18X9.5.  The tire sizes are 235/45R17's and 275/40R18's.  BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW 2's.  They hook-up great and I love the look!

I thought I put my specs. in here but guess not.

Rear:  275/60/15  on 8.5" width wheels 3.75" bs

Front:  235/60/15 on 7" width wheels.  Not sure bs but it must be around 3.5".

Initially I wanted to put 295's on so I sold the torqs that came on the car 8" width rears but 4" bs for the current set.

The 3.75" scared me.  Hindsight I would have been better off with the original set but the 295 is too much for an 8" wheel.  There's a member who runs the 295s' with my wheels bs & has no issues.

In the end I wanted the ass end a little higher & going with the 295s' would have defeated that so I went with the 275s'.

AdamA

Ok, so i think i saw M/T have 60 profile on the 295`s , maybe that will work..

AdamA

didn`t buy those, bought bf goodrich 245/60-15 front  295/50-15 back hope that will work, but i have to wait 2 months for my wheels to travel over the water from USA....

16 x 8 American Racing AR898 rims with P235/60R16 Falken SN211 tires.  Now I just need to buy the Wilwood brakes for front and back.  Note: the new rear springs have a one inch lift greater than stock.

I have been looking for tires for a 17 inch rim that are equal to a 275/60/15 but for a 17 inch rim 28 inches tall and 10 inches wide is anyone running something like this?

Thanks

XH29N0G

275 50/17 should be 27.8" tall

I would be interested in seeing this if anyone has this combination.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Go to tirerack.com and click on the "tires" arrow on line 2.  In the "Shop for Tires" section select an approximate size to what you think is the size you're looking for (however, just getting the 17" wheel size right is most important part of this right now).

Select the "Go" button once you have your size selected and on the next page there will be the first of several pages of possible tires.  On the left, there are filters.  You can select the brands you wish to view here.  After selecting the brands you like, you can browse all the potential tires available.

Once you see a brand/tire design you like, select the word "specs" in the "additional tire information" section in that tires preview ad.  This will take you to that tires spec page.  Here, you will see the size details of every aspect of this tire.  If it does meet your requirements (this is the whole point of my comments here) there is a tab below labeled "other sizes" and here you can view every aspect of every single size of that type of tire.

Some brands, like Dunlop, do not provide a spreadsheet of everything all at once but there is a list of other tire sizes which you can select another size then go to the spec tab again and view its details.  However, on BFGoodrich and Michellin tires for example, you will find a spreadsheet of every size and every detail of that series of tire.  Just look down the diameter and width columns and you should find your tire (just make sure it's a 17"!  :icon_smile_wink:).  The closest I've seen thus far was 27" I believe but if it's out there, this will lead you to it!

Hope this helps!  Good luck! :2thumbs:
