I don't think it looks bad with them on but with the dark wheels I think it would just look cleaner going right into the orange without the chrome breaking it up.

Kinda like the year one charger, it just looks clean without em on certain colors.

Speaking of lowering blocks, I'll probably need those once I install new leafs-I'm sure the car's JUST RIGHT in stance because of dead springs lol.  Once the new leafs go in I'm sure that rear end is going into the skies.

As for the wheel moulding/trim, they're staying off... :icon_smile_wink

Finally, wow-I didn't know about the Year One Charger.  I really dig that darker orange...

Hello guys, Have a 69 B.B. charger, would you guys happen to know what the widest tire that would fit rear tucked in the wheel well without tubbing, car will sit level front to rear, like DeAngelo halls 69 charger, yearone car, I'm sure his was tubbed, maybe?. Thanks guys. Pat

Ah ah ah!  No help from us until you post pictures of your car!

Lol, just kidding man, although we do want to see what you've got.

In any case, I think guys in here are putting as large a 295's on their cars, someone correct me if I'm wrong.  What diameter rim will you be running?

I've got 315zr17s on my rear wheels (17x11 5.5bs) and they fit without rubbing,  its close though, if the backspace was off it wouldn't fit.
69 RT/SE Y3 cream yellow w/tan vinyl top and black r/t stripe. non matching 440/375, 3:23, Column shift auto w/buddy seat, tan interior, am/fm w/fr to back fade, Now wears 17" magnum 500 rims and Nitto tires. Fresh repaint, new interior, new wheels and tires.

The lower profile makes it easier to fit, it isn't as tall as the 15s that were on it before, think i'll go with a 245/45 on the front, I'd like a little more sidewall than the rears.  Nittos tend to run a little narrow for the size, and they are street DRs (N555R).  I'm hoping to get N555 regulars for the front.  I have to decide soon since the wheels will arrive tomorrow.  I plan to remove the 15 inch bfg's on the front and use it on the spare wheel, a 15 inch chrome original magnum 500 that came with the car.

time for me to donate to the thread now.

295/45/20 BFG KDW and fronts are 245/45/18.  The rims are 20x10 and 18x8 I think a 18x9.5 would of fit and looked better, but I read somewhere that having a too wide of a tire for these does not good for the turns???  I got a bottom out on the driver rear when i was turning I hit a mini pothole and heard my tire hit and stopped to check her and sure enough I got a minor scrap on the outer tire overall she does great if I didnt hit the pothole.

Hotchis setup leaf spring and shocks and torsion bars.

Nice looking car  :2thumbs:  I did a double take on the front bumper.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I'd go wider than the 7" rim. These chargers have plenty of room to add a wider tire. Go with an 8" front try to get as close to 4.5" backspace as you can. The back can fit up to a 10" wide with a 5.5" backspace with no modifications depending on tire size.

Hi Guys, I see no one has written on here for a while, but i figured I'd throw a couple questions out there. I'm looking for 18" wheels, 15" dont do it for me. I want at least 10" wide in the back and 8 in the front. Can anyone tell me a good site to buy aftermarket wheels that don't look like different versions of wheels from the 70's or 80's? I'm looking for a modern pro-touring look with a polished black surface and chrome lip. I love the rims on the year one charger but those suckers are 1200$ a pop. While I'm willing to pay for a custom wheel, that's a little ridiculous. I did find a nice wheel at Mickey Thompson but the Offset and backspacing looks like it wont work. 28 x 10.5 with 6.5 back space and 21mm offset. I think that means almost a 1" positive offset which would put that rim into the stock fender well. what do you guys think? any recommendations on where to buy a better sized wheel? Will that mickey Thompson work?

I'm running  'plain steelies' 7 x 15 wheels in front and 10 x 15 in back. no problems. stock offset...and I have ssb discs set up on all 4.  got my wheels from wheels vintiques.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I will be going to a larger diameter tire ..probably Hoosier 295/60D/15s in the rear. right now ts a 295/50/15

Would you happen to know what the stock offset is?
