I just got this message today...

"your Dad's Daytona is in Augusta, GA, about 3 miles from my house!! A Mopar friend of mine owns it, and it's totally restored! In 69, Dodge built 508 Daytonas, 11 of which, were Rallye Green (your dad's car). The guy that my buddy bought it from got it from someone in Southern Vermont in 1979! Small World! "

How cool! Connections like this are neat. :2thumbs: I hope this works out for you and it is the car you're looking for. :yesnod: There are cars from my past I'd also like to find. But none as dear as this one is to you I'm sure. I believe he is off on the 11 number in the F-6 green color scheme though. I remember there was more like 43 of them last I heard. Not really that important in this case. You're just hoping its the car you remember. Keep us informed if it is. I'd like to know. Sorry I can't be of any help though.

yeah, maybe more like 13 or 11 with white stripe and interior I thought, but plenty more f6 overall.

I hope. I am looking into.  I would like to see it.  First car I remember riding in, last cool car my day had.  he died when I was 12, maybe 4 years or so after selling.

Not realistic for me to buy it even if it was for sale.

Its always neat to track down a cool car that ones father used to own. I have had the honor of locating several of my dads old cars, but have yet to be able to purchase any of them back. Though a few have been for sale since located I too am far short in the piggy bank to own any of them now.

Yeah, I hear you.  He had a 65 tripower gto and a 68 442 I don't remember, plus a SS454 70 Chevelle that he traded for the Daytona.  I vaugely remember that car but not riding in it. I remember the Daytona well.  There was also a 69 Z28 he had around 73 to 75 or so.  I recently was in touch with the guy he sold it to but that is long gone as well.

I cannot even track down the 69 GTO I had in HS, and I even have the VIN.  I ended up getting another one.
Realistically, I may end up with a Daytona clone some day, but not the real thing.
