Black Charger

Cool stories like these are the reason I joined this site. Keep them coming!

Also, is it just me or does that turquoise look killer on that bird? I think that would be a cool and unique color choice for someone building a resto mod or clone bird.

Prolly, that vert Charger was up here @ the Sunbust shows for several years.

I'm surprised Dan (8WHEELER) hasn't stopped by.  He & Bob go way back IIRC.

Bob still loves his Fury verts, this is the one he was using as a tow vehicle for over
15 years, he has hauled cars to Vegas and back from North of Seattle. It is now painted
B5 Blue to match the bird. After the new paint job, he retired it as a tow rig.

My Charger was actually on this trailer once, coming back from the paint shop in 99. What
engine would you think this car should have for this work? yep, its a 318 with 360 heads and
727 trans, gets better mileage than most any tow rig around, But steap long hills were not real
speedy  ;D

He is great guy, and a great friend.

This was the ACME location in 2000. Woodinville Wa.

I have shifted Bobs bird, but withought the use of my legs, that's the best I could do  ;D

Bob and I have gone to more car shows together than I can count, one thing he really
likes, is to let the kids either lean in the car, or sit in the front seat and let them honk
the BEEP BEEP horn, the kids love it to  ;D the car gets a hell of a lot of attention as you
can probably imagine, great guy.

About 5yrs ago Bob took the Hemi out, painted the engine bay and a few other area's
The correct B5 blue. Then he put the new rebuilt Hemi in. Let me tell you, I had that
engine in my mini van with the heads off, god all mighty are those Hemi's heavy, I thought
the poor van was not going to make it up his steep drive way   :yesnod:

I have not taken any good pics of Bobs Bird since the repaint, but I have a few more
before the new B5 repaint, I have never seen another Hemi 4sp Superbird  :shruggy:

Not to my knowledge yet.  The gentleman I sold the car to was getting ready to do some work on it when his dad took ill.  I have not heard from him in about a year.  I should give him a jingle and see what is new.

It's nice when these cars are driven and not trailered. Good job keeping another one on the road Bob! Cool writeup too. I've seen the car and talked to you a few years ago but didn't know it went in for a restoration recently.

That's really cool to see.  I am surprised to know that so many people actually use their birds and daytonas.  JoAnna has taken her Daytona on a few Power Tours, Scott uses his bird and goes everywhere you crazy guys.  Just crazy.
