Finally had room to pull my 68 Charger out of it's 15 year storage and see what I had (I never even cleaned it out when I bought it).  Took a rebuilt carb, couple plug wires, some points and fuel to get her started again - Slant 6's don't die!!!

after working on a 440 with stock HP manifolds, all i can say is:  "WOW there is so much room for activities in that engine bay!" grats on getting it back going!

I appreciate seeing these rare cars but would not want one unless it was in addition to my other ones.
I would accept a slant six Valiant or truck since they are not performance oriented cars. My Chargers are not comfortable enough or get enough mileage to just give up on the performance part of it.
Again, I'm glad to see this car get saved due to it's rarity.

Heck ya! Super cool car, I used to have a hillside hemi. It was a 69 C500.  :coolgleamA:

I understand kern dog, but it has nothing to do with throwing 100K plus at a slant 6 Charger. Peace and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Who spends that kind of money to restore a car anyway? Not all cars need to be 100% factory correct. They don't all have to be sent to a shop to be done by professionals. I have less than $10,000 in my "Jigsaw" '70 Charger and it runs, drives, steers and stops. It is mechanically sound, I have most of the parts to complete it and all-in, I can have the car looking pretty damn nice for under $20,000.

ACUDANUT

Kern, very true. But this 68 Slant 6..Rust bucket ain't worth a dime imo.
Just because it's rare, does not make it valuable.

Kern Dog

Value only matters to some when they intend to sell it.
Maybe the guy likes being different. We have all seen numerous 440 and Hemi cars. I know that I have. Seeing a slant six Charger may not be exciting to most but some might find it interesting to see.

Any Charger with an original engine is a treat. My friends and I have logged many /6 miles, it's one of the all time best engines ever made!  :2thumbs:
