WoW!! 468 miles.

Others that have seen the car - including Mike G. / Dayclona - previously noted that the car had 11,000 miles on it.  The speedometer with red tenths is a dead giveaway that it's a replacement unit anyway.

Neat car regardless.

Thats more like it ! still not many miles but much more believable.  Why would he knowingly lie about some thing like that :shruggy:

makes a better story, big lies lead to attention seeking behavior, maybe he got this mentality from the corvette owners he has been hanging out with.. I have no idea Allen.  I do know people lie for many reasons and most of them are to exaggerate the truth in order to cajole a response or attention that best satisfies their innate desires at self-righteousness and glorification.

well.. you asked :D hehe

If i'm not mistaken there is a Daytona that does actually have around 480+/- miles on it and it has been parked since new. But it isn't the one in question.

He will probably be asking $4,000,000 for it someday.

I have heard about a few that never got registered because the dealer could not sell it, went out of business and just stored it.

All of them had some level of damage or modification done to the car. Wonder if that had anything to do with not being able to sell it?

I would say the car having been repainted several times hurts the value of the car.
Getting caught with it on the street will probably get it impounded since if it has never been registered means it also has no title.

That would probably be the one from Sechler Motor's in Myersdale,PA.

What color is this car from Sechler Motors? I remember a very low mileage Daytona being advertised for sale in very early eighties. Just curious.

Correct Gene, IIRC this is car 300009, the car was actualy the fathers, never registered/titled, the car was originally intended for delivery to Elmwood Dodge, RI, but was refused, and transfered to Brocton, Mass.....where it saw use as a dealer promo, parade use, showroom model, etc, the car saw a few repaints over the years, one from day one, as it was damaged from being unloaded off the carrier,... the dash cluster was changed out ,...why?, two many stories from the brothers who were it's caretakers over the years after their Father past, the car was offered a few times for sale, with prices ranging from $80K all the way up to 1 mil, :eyes: over the many years, but seeing that it was being held between 3 brothers, each with a different agenda, Ron being the one that wanted to maintain the car in the family, the others looking at it potential value, it lead up to contention amongs the brothers,....I met and talked with the Brockton dealers service manger who recalled the car, and working on it,...didn't recall the reasons for the instrument replacement, but confirmed the one left in the trunk with 11K on the Odometer was the one replaced, the original Magnum Rims were also in the trunk, the car sat indoors, heated for most of it's life,....it was indeed an interesting car to study, as it was mostly undisturbed/unmolested... except for a few "bad" repaints over the years, and the dealer installed vinyl, ... assy wise, it was never touched, a VERY clean car
