A year later and people still complain,

Its his dam car let him do what he wants to it, i can understand if he was ripping the thing apart....everything that was done could be undone if the next person who gets its chooses to do so.

Man some of you really know how to kill the fun out of this hobby, anyone going to get mad because i grafted 71 door louvers into a 73 door??

The guy gets to enjoy the rest of his life racing a car he had his whole life...guess thats a problem.
AMEN... And also the reason I rarely post here any more.

Jon doesn't own this car. A customer does.

Darkman

A car that is 1 of 1 bought new and raced then sold a year later. The original engine pulled and gone, so how can you make this back to original??

All the people that bagged this guy for doing what he did, need to drink some hospital grade laxatives and clear the shit off of their livers! The "history" was gone a year after it was built!

The owner was not an idiot for doing what he did, neither was Jeff for posting it!
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

If you think Education is difficult, try being stupid!

couldn't agree more. His car his life.
And  ANYTHING done to this car CAN be reversed. I know people who can undo anything done to any car, and I'll guarentee 99% of the people would never know is was done

That's an understatement.  I guess an "Anything But Mopars" area would be too difficult to create.
At anyrate if you can find a link, please post it up.  I lost the urge for looking after a 1/2 hour.

He replaced the Dana 60 with a 9 inch.

All arguments defending him are therefore invalid.  :icon_smile_big:

Why? IMO, Service from the aftemrkt makes it a better choice for service and repairs on the fly . I mean it is and always has been a  race car.

And , btw, I'm not defending him or downing him. It is HIS car  HIS money therefore HIS choice. Any circumstances persuading his choices or decisions is irrelevant.

djcarguy

I give him credit for keeping the car safe and dry all these years.and glad it was not just raced to death or crashed and left out to rot.
but my guess is he is now in his 60es or 70es and will now loss control and crash it at the track, unless he has lots of track and driving experience.
i would have sold it or mild rebuild for show and race a non rare model,,,,, :Twocents:      any updates and pics???????????????????

That thread is lame.. more of the usual... People talking about what THEY would do if it were their car. Bottom line is it isn't.. Hell, it's not MINE... I could give two craps about the car, I just wanted to share some cool pictures...

Aero426

The car is what it is.   The owner got the car he wanted and can enjoy it.

I hope that's not one of those Belvadere GTX factory Hemi cars. If so, you're right, it would be a very, very rare piece of history and they're getting ready to junk it.

http://www.harmsauto.com/images/One%20of%20None/scan0031.jpg

That's not even an RH23 car like discussed in the memo. That's an RL21 car.

The white books list two known 67 RL21 cars; one four speed and one automatic. Is this the automatic car?

Also, I don't know my 66-67 Plymouths that well. Is this really a '67 or is it a '66? According to the White book, there were 136 1966 RL21 Hemi cars shipped and 50 RO21 Hemi S/S cars.

I know where the 4 speed car is at. It's my understanding that the Hemi wasn't available in the Belvedere in 1967, only on the the GTX and that there were 4 - 5 Belvedere I's that were built with the Hemi, 1 street car (the one pictured) and 3 - 4 race cars.
