Daytona won the B body mopar class at the NMCA Muscle car Nationals, held at Gateway in Madison IL.  They gave a lot of awards in many classes.  I also one Best mopar Muscle car prior 1979 or earlier.  A 2007 Dodge Charger Daytona one the over-all best mopar in show :shruggy: not much old metal there.  Mostly LS, LSI LX.  Still had a good time.  The first day not one person asked if it was a real Daytona.  Today only four people asked  At local shows I have at least 10 people ask.  If they ask I tyell them, if not I don't ;D  I used to tell everyone right of the bat ot was a replica.  Maybe that is deceptive :shruggy:

Awesome wins  :2thumbs:
When you get asked that question, are ever tempted to ask them to touch it to see if it's real or in their imagination  :D ?

First off CONGRATULATIONS!  :2thumbs:

I used to asked that question long before tribute cars were being put together in the numbers that we have now. I would always reply "have you ever seen a fake one?" I guess I wont be using that one any longer. :icon_smile_blackeye:
wingless now, but still around.

The first day not one person asked if it was a real Daytona.

For Marty it's the same with us.  They'll get "yes," "no," or "nope--it's just a figment of your imagination."

For the 'birds, which are showing their ages, we get asked if they're survivors all the time.  They'll hear "yes," "no it was repainted in the 70's," or "no--I'm afraid this one didn't make it."

congrats to you and hotrod98!

I love my wingcar. Some of the young people around here are starting to ask questions about the bird and they want to know where they can find an old musclecar to restore. I think the rice burners have lost their cool factor among the teens.

I don't know about that Larry?  I was amazed at some of the young people who did not eveb pause at the Daytona but spent 15-30 minutes looking over a 2 year old mustang with all the after market bells and whistles.  Now I have to addmit I don't drool over all the new stuff, but if anything is done right or might be rare, I will spend a little time going around it.

Every other little rich high school girl around here drives a new Challenger. That's what's turned me off to the idea of owning one. They kind of look like a girls car now in my mind. When the young people working at the restaurants around town here ask me if I know where they can find a musclecar, I don't have the heart to tell them just how expensive they are.
They would probably decide to stay with the rice burners once they found out.

Prices are coming down on entry level classic muscles cars.  In my town is a nice 65 Polara 383/727.  Solid new paint complete interior (neds put back together) $5,500  I doubt you could get into a ricer for much less than that   AS for the new Challenger,  I will own one eventualy.  I guess it's just the feminine side in me :nana:
