Yup, that's my car...

The first owner traded a '68 SuperBee as part of the purchase about two months after this ad ran.

Thanks for finding it, Dave

The Charger500 in the other ad link is interesting, since it has a sunroof and vinyl top (undoubtedly dealer-installed).  It's probably the "only one in stock" anywhere!

Good question, and I never tried to calculate what that number was before now.

Without adding anything for DAA (Dealership Association Assessment ?? - not sure if there was one in that area or if they had to participate in the Kansas City area ) or taking a stab at what the Destination Charge would have been, the car has a Factory Wholesale Price around $3324.  The only extra-cost options the car has are:
A33 Track Pak
C16 Console
G15 Tinted Glass
R11 AM Radio
W21 Chrome Road Wheels

The Factory Retail Price was around $4,100 and the official MSRP was in the neighborhood of $4,364 (w/o the aforementioned destination or other misc. charges).

Quite the discount in that advertisement, but nothing says the deal they struck several weeks later with the original owner Mr. Alden was similar.  He traded a '68 SuperBee as part of the original purchase, so other things (such as what the '68 Bee sold for and how long that took) would factor into what they made or lost on the sale of this Daytona.  I'm surprised they were willing to discount it that much, since it had only been on the lot for about 4-5 months by the time that ad ran.

Got a different car June 70 $3100.00

That's a used car with 14,000 miles, according to the description

My Daytona also sold as a used car from a small Chrysler-affiliated dealership in Cameron, Missouri during the fall (October?) of 1972, after the original owner tired of the engine using oil - so he traded it in on a new E-body.  Cameron is not too far from St. Joseph, and I've seen a few car ads mentioning Cameron in these classifieds.  Don't know if it was advertised for sale by the other dealership or not.  It ended up selling for less than $1,800 with a little over 20,000 miles on the clock -- still under warranty.

That retail installment contract/form seems a bit strange.  They list the initial sale price of $5155, yet the second item in the Downpayment section is a "Discount" of $1150.  The resulting net purchase price of $4,005 seems a little more reasonable (for the time).  Wonder why they didn't just list the real sale price right off the bat?

Cant explain the Contract figures 11.08 fianancing
Unrelated It was fiananced through Chrysler credit. The title was stamped Chrysler credit date 1973 when fully paid off.Another thing I wondered shiplist showed it shipped 8-30-69.
