awesome job dude.do you have any pictures of the construction of the lower section of the nose. it would be neat to see that part of your build.keep up the great work.

panhead

Thanks for the kind words, I don't have any pics of that part of the build. All I used was brown paper and transferred it to metal and added about 1"to 1-1/2" on both sides and broke the sides and then used a shrinker to form the curves, and then used a English wheel for the center crown. This past weekend I seen a Jack McGaughey superbird nose all I can say is OMG!! It was out standing work. So I'm going to try to make another nose cone. :scratchchin:

So how many hours do you think you have in to this?

I would really dig having the tools to make that, ..among other things.   Bodywork..?   Sittin' down in front of it would be a pleasure compared to some of what I've seen you do.  :popcrn:

On your next upper half nose piece what about using a bead roller with a tipping die to 90 the edges over and an offset die to create a recess flange to flush mount the side pieces and also to form the grille flanges? I've found the tipping die a great tool for rolling some sharp curves with crisp crown lines.

montana bird

I agree with Don. I have a 36" baleih. It is just amazing what you can do with the tipping die, and off set dies. I love that machine

panhead

I do have a cheap bead roller (harbor freight) It comes have good amount of dies but never seen the tipping die before. I just seen it on you tube that looks cool!! I tried it on some fire wall panels that I had to replace worked alright but it flexs alot. I need to re inforce.
