73 charger carpet removal

After finding all that rust under the rear seats, I am going to pull the carpet and have a look.

So any tricks for removing the carpet, I was think of using a putty knife.

BTW: Carpet is going to be replaced.

When I took it out of my 71, it just came off like nothing. Rolled it up and tossed it and that was that.

Yup, should just lift right out.  Just take the kick panels off on the driver's and passenger's side.

Ok good, I have only peeled it back from under the rear seat and it was glued there. I was worrying it was glued everywhere.

Mine is totally glued in with some yellow crap that mimics the bottom design of the carpet :eek2:(hope its not acid based). Dave

Sometimes they go a little nuts with the seam sealer ... I had a couple spots on my 73 like that.  My 67 came right out though.  Worst case, you'll have to reseal a couple spots, but if you're going to replace floors it won't matter.
