That's my old Charger 500, currently owned by MoparChris.  Looks like a picture taken during the July, 2008 MuscleCar Power photo shoot.  (Page 42-43 is a rear shot in front of the same house, probably Chris's).

I don't mind them myself.  The black sidewall looks good with the dogdish caps.

I dont mind the black sidewalls. What turms me off is the tread and the fact that it rolls over the side.

Hmmm, I guess it doesn't bother me since I never really noticed it.  Interesting how the little details stand out for some of us and not others huh?

Charger-Bodie

Yeah. Im a pretty big fan of bias tires too , so thats part of it im sure. Ima little Biased.

I'm biased towards Bias-Ply myself

Ghoste

The squared off profile definitely has a more aggressive look.  This car had enough aggression to overcome that IMO. :icon_smile_big:

R C Long bought the 500 from my brother and me. The Hemmings photos appear to show the wheels that were on the car when we sold it.  Note that there are no stripes, nor are the A-pillar mouldings I provided installed yet.  Here are a few photos I posted a couple years back from when I owned it.

WOW!! Look what happens when I start to actually work for a living instead of playing on web sites!!  Yup, that's my car, picture is from the photo shoot for  Musclecar Power magazine a couple of years ago.  I cannot understand how this photo got published as I never got a phot disc of the shoot and I don't think the journalist who did the article would just start posting pictures out in cyber space.
Sorry to all you guys who think the car should have bias plys on it.  In a perfect world (available $)  I would agree, but being a public school teacher limits the available funds.  Those tires were taken off of another set of wheels that I had so basically they were free, which fit the budget.  The car now has red line radials (sorry !!) that my buddy had on his COPO Camaro and they rubbed, so yet again I put some thing else on the car that isn't  "correct" but since he told me I could have next to new tires for $100 they are now on the C500.
In MY perfect world the car would have the slotted mags on it like when the Lear brothers had it.  I personally think they all look dorky with skinny little tires on them.
We did a photo shoot with this car for Hemmings Muscle Machines last summer which I am still waiting to see published.

I've got a buddy who has a green 500 with green upholstery and black stripes.  A hemi auto trans car.  Only has 30,000 miles but needs a total restoration.  Been sitting in a steel pole building with a concrete floor since 1983.  I've got some pix if anyone is interested.

Yup, that is it. Here are a couple more of that same car.  Next time I am there I will get the VIN number.  Unfortunately the engine was pulled and put into an Anglia around 1980 or so and a 318 was put in its place, but I'm guessing if someone really wanted to find the original engine it could be found with some diligent searching.

I doubt that this Anglia is the one.  That video was from 1980 and that is approximately the same year that the hemi was put into the Anglia, so it should have had Indiana plates and as I remember it was all red.

I spoke to the owner yesterday and he said MAYBE we can get down where it is stored this coming week.  He will take his new girlfriend, her teenaged son (who doesn't believe he actually owns a genuine Charger 500) and me down to check the car out.  That is assuming the farmer is home and we can get into the barn!  We hope to find the build sheet.  I will shoot some more pix also.

Ben

There is more than one 500 sitting in a barn in Indiana that is for sure. And more than one of them are HEMI 500's too. Thanks for posting more pics of the car. Would love to see the car.
