I'd keep an eye on it, a friend of mine is up in NC on holiday and he's looking for one

i'm in the city where this car is, seen it, know the guy that owns it. heard he wants 75 for it. good running car, and appears to be straight as far as i can tell.

I think the Petty Blue small block Daytona would be fun and seems to be priced right.  As for 75K on the black one, I will be surprised if he comes close to that.  Five years ago 75K would not surprise me at all.

that looks like a nice car but the small block is killing him resale wise . to get good money for a daytona clone it has to have a 440 or a hemi . it's cool to have other engines but for resale those are the ones that sell . :Twocents:

i was speaking of the driveshaft not the value of the car,

with the work done to the blue car and the ease of transplanting a big block, i wish i was in a position to jump on it, hope he gets what he wants

I am not sure what he would let it go for but asking 26K, I would think you could possibly get in it for around 23K, install a big block and have a nice driver Daytona clone for under 30K :Twocents:

the seller can accept the high bid at auction end, regardless of the reserve being met or not. it could be set at some crazy number, just to see what kind of bidding it provokes.

That is true, but I don't think it will be listed as sold.  Probably better that way if you can make a deal.  If he wants 75K I don't think a deal will be cut anytime soon :scratchchin:

And I still stand by my original post on this..   ;D

I do realise that it would cost more than 40Gs to buy a Charger, and make a clone...

BUT!!!

This is not 1990 anymore,, Nor is it 2008..
It is 2011 and people just don't have money to spend...

I think the car is totally kicka$$ and definately would not kick it outta my garage...

I agree 100%, I think when the owner started building or having it built 75K was a very fair price.  I am glad I don't neeed to sell any of my cars in this economy!  If he did have it built I bet he has more than 75k in it :shruggy:

Nice car - I'm not too fond of the red interior, it's just too red, I would feel I'm in a VW bug :) Also, the engine bay and engine is not detailed enough for the price he wants. Are the headlights functional? Regardless of what you put into something it is only worth what the market will bring.
