with michigan's wacky auto insurance rules, this might get rather messy.

Bummer to say the least. I see a stetcher - hope everyone is ok. Rear-enders can be nasty if no headrests.

It looks bad, but the back end is the worse of it. And from what I've seen on this board recently with another rear-ended Superbird, I'm thinking the back could be pulled out.

The Nosecone is Kaput. However, the inside components could likely be straigtened, and a new Nosecone from what's his name (the Nascar guy) would probably put it right.

At least the fenders look good. :2thumbs:

how in the cornbreadhell do you not see a wing car in front of you? texting? what a dumba$$ :brickwall: speaking of the insurance. i had to get off the road in my bird to miss an elk. got ahold of my insurance company and they sent a guy right out. this guy was great, he's a car guy who has restored cars and has owned a paint and body shop. there was no hassle, no low balling me. very glad i have Grundy insurance. they were great.

moparchris

I thought I'd spend a few quite minutes looking at Aero car stuff and I see this :icon_smile_angry:
I think I'll go puke now......

it made it to Jalopnik:

http://jalopnik.com/5836203/smushed-superbird-beak-a-woodward-dream-cruise-casualty

From the link : "Flagged down via CarDomain, the Superbird was reportedly exiting Woodward Avenue when it smacked the rear-end of a Silverado pickup and was then rear-ended itself."
So the bird was the first to hit the guy in front of him, and then he got hit from behind.  . sounds like a sudden stop by the truck in front of him then.  Or the bird driver was not paying attention...   :shruggy:

Granted, there should have been more buffer between the 'Bird and the truck in front of him, but someone rammed the 'Bird from the rear. I think the 'Bird was helped along in a very unsettling way. I can see a car behind the 'Bird in the 1st picture. The 'Bird is smashed in the rear..

QuoteTo set the record straight. As a family member of the women driving the bird. This is the story. She was sitting stopped at a light behind 2 other vehicles, as well as 3 vehicles stopped at the light next to her. It was a 68 year old man that that drove right into the back of the superbird never hitting the brakes. (Obviously not seeing the big blue wing. Dumb ass) Every one is okay, with only minor injuries. She had just left the Woodward Dream Cruise. Looks bad, feels worse. Sorry Ma.

I looked on there site only seen a busted up yellow cuda
http://www.autobidmaster.com/carfinder-online-auto-auctions/lot/12792831/COPART_1970_PLYMOUTH_CUDA_SALVAGE_CERTIFICATE_/

A guy on Cuda-Challenger owns that one. If I remember correct, he was on the freeway and a semi merged and he had to swerve and ended up hitting the median than going through a fence. It's getting fixed....
