Daytona - 22" Rad - Not?

I got that old magazine off of ebay with a Daytona test in it. It think it is the one everyone references when talking about a 22" rad. Well - I had it shipped to a buddy in the US for know. We were talking about it and I mentioned it is the Daytona with a 22" rad. He said that for decades, whenever that comes up he tells everyone - have another look at the pic. It is a file photo of a Charger engine compartment....not the Daytona in the feature. Is there a Daytona with a 22" Rad out there that is actually coded on the Broadcast Sheet? Seems silly, with all the potential cooling ills Ma would of put a 22" in there.

I thought all Daytonas were actually R/T's?

And all had 440 or Hemi....no 22" rad with those?

Unless I remember wrong, according to the factory service manual, you got a 22" rad with a 440 that had a fan shroud and a fixed 7 blade fan.  The only way you got upgraded to a 26" rad was with an axle package (which included HD cooling) or a/c.

Nope... 426 Hemi's - yes... All had 26" rad's.

440's on the other hand didn't if it was mated to a 727 with a 3.23 rear-gear behind it plus NOT equipped with a/c.  In this case, 22" rad's were the order of the day...

Looking like.

It is the first AB!

OK - So we know this car is a transitional mess.

Anyone out there have a Broadcast Sheet showing a Daytona with a 22" rad?

I seem to recall a couple of mini-discussions on this before... :scratchchin:
