Looks like a pretty decent body on it, do you have any more pics?
Did you score it cheap?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

41husk

I have some more they are all bigger than the 200kb allowed.  It has some serious issues but I believe it can be saved or I wouldn't be getting it.

Great score.  Is that Petty blue?  My buddy has a '72 Ralley Challenger that color.

Nice looking Charger. Good luck.
Now the fun begins. :yesnod:

I would rather wait until the car is in my possesion before I give the exact details, but yes it is petty blue (I am not sure what the code for that is, if someone lets me know I will check the fender tag)  The fun won't start for a bit longer.  I am trading cash and a 1970 383/727 so I will probably have to take that to him and pick the car up,  If the motor was not part of the deal I would consider having it transported.  It will cost about the same in hotel, gas and food.  I can't go get it until Wrestling is all Finished as I am a high school coach.  that means the end of February begining of march at the soonest.  I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, even though this one is gonna just sit until I finish the 70 Challenger convertible.

Wasnt that one for sale here or on the old board at one time?  I am almost 100%  positive it was. I believe the seller ( I do  remember the sellers ID but for your pivacy, i wont mention it ) lived in NC, but used to live in New York. I am not trying to be negative but.... I remember that i thougt the asking price way too high considering the condition of the car and how many of the high dollar parts were missing.  I hope it works out well for you, that you got a good deal,  and that the car is not any worse than expected.  I'd be especially leery if the car spent very much of its life in New York.

Looks like a great project. I hope it works out for you and it is what you expect. Waiting until the end of February to pick it up would make me a little nervous though.

It has the 440, Buldge hood, doors and Ralley tail lights.  What high dollar items are missing?  Most other parts are intechangable with all 72 chargers.  The car was for sale on this board and I feel I have made a fair deal.  I don't think he is giving it away but I will not need to sell off any other toys to buy it,  (although I would be real motivated to move that spare 440 I have been trying to sell)  The car is not originaly from New York, the seller said the car was from New Orleans prior to the flood.  He sounds like a very nice guy.  He even said, after I mailed the deposit, If you get down here and it's not what you thought I will refund your deposit no harm no foul.  So I am pretty excited, that might be due to the fact that I have again somehow failed to inform my wife of this purchase, that gives me a month to be nice and soften the blow.  If I tell her i am selling one of my three cars at Monster Mopar that will probably help.  I might tell he I decided on this car rather than the 08 Challenger I told her I was getting :icon_smile_cool: :icon_smile_tongue:

Does anyone know how many Petty Blue Chargers were built for the 72 model year?
I was told by some know-it-all at Carlisle that Dodge didn't offer that color until Petty started driving Chargers half way through the 72 race season.

hey 41, mine was that color also, but when i did the body work last winter,i went with a more modern blue-05 elctric blue metallic-

mine was originally super blue with a white vinyl top

41husk

I had a 72 that was B7 and I have a 68 that is QQ1 blue.  I have to admitt neither are colors I would have chosen if buying or they wern't original but both ended up growing on me.  Looking at ralley mike and the other superblue cars on this thread I like the polished and shined versions much better than the faded look of mine :yesnod:

Ccording to map quest, 64 through Illinois, Kentuky and into West Va. I-77 into North Carolina, then it gets interesting, looks like 74 to 40 to 421 to 220 to I-85 to 42.  It sounds confusing, but I will find it.
