Finally returned to the 1969 Charger 500 barn find to see if we could find the build sheet and found it behind the rear seat back.  I also got a few more shots of the car.  It's the real deal.

OK, I may be a day-late-and-dollar-short here, but have you posted previously if you are going to buy this? A Hemi C500 !!!  I noticed the regular air cleaner in there, so Hemi's not in the car now? I recognize the car from pictures seen earlier..

The hemi is gone. It has a 318.  I'm trying to get the owner to sell it but even if he would decide to sell I don't have the $$$. ;)

I'm sure he could use the $$$ and I would love to see this thing restored and being enjoyed by someone.  He would like to restore it himself but with this economy it ain't gonna happen any time soon.

My bucket list includes a 70 Cuda like I had back in the day, a black 340 auto built to the gills (pun intended.)

Wow. I agree - looking at that barn it doesnt look like anybody does anything out there, let alone work on a restoration. It would be great if you could get him to list it or broker a deal. The owner makes needed cash, Benji builds Mopar Karma, and a cool car gets into the hands of someone who can care for it.

Good luck!!!

He has a big barn new barn for his tractors so this one gets used to store his kids bicycles, soccer stuff, his ATV and assorted junk!  There is also a Ford Torino in another part Tim tells me.

Storing is not the correct description! :scratchchin:

I noticed that too, seems like quite a few of these cars that have been parked for LOOONNNG times were wearing snow tires

Probably because these cars were hard to start when it got real cold and that was when snow tires were also needed.

Stuart, you have no idea how accurate that statment is. I smeared a BB Mach1 over about 400 feet of road in 1983. Studded snow tires and topped out velocity didnt and wont ever mix.

Dave, if those are the pics I am thinking of, you were a lucky boy.

I dont want to derail this thread. :icon_smile_blackeye: I shouldnt have mentioned it. I wont post the pics because of the knuckle heads :slap: over at Moparts a few years ago breaking my balls about them being photoshopped. :eyes:
