SPRING HILL -- 
Maurice Paradise spent about 10 years putting his 1942 Chevrolet pickup truck back together.
Last weekend, somebody broke into the garage in Spring Hill where he keeps it and trashed it.
They covered parts of it with white paint, broke all the windows, cut most of the wiring and more.
Paradise, who is 82 years old, is heartbroken.
"I have a hard time talking about it," Paradise said holding back tears. "To spend so much time working on the vehicle ... Someone had to be sick or something wrong to do that."
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is busy trying to track down who did this. They're asking anyone with information about this crime to call them.
Paradise says he is not going to fix the damage because he can't face what's been done to his truck.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Hmmmmm. Hate to say this but this was very personal. Someone went after what ment most to him. Makes me wonder why?

That seriously sounds like someone who knew the old guy and didn't like him. I just can see someone doing that much damage to an old vehicle someone is restoring. There is anger and hatred in that amount of damage.

That being said, there would be no news article for me. The damage would be replaced and I'd have a new rose garden after some detective work.  ;)

I bet if they find the person(s) he/they will be between 12-25 and the reason will be because they did something stupid (such as tresspassing on the old guy's property and he told them to get off the property) or something else that stupid so they wanted to get back at the old guy.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Of course it doesn't mean I condone what was done, but the old guy must have either really ticked someone off, or just some a-hole vandals having what they consider, fun.   ::)

Well, I can only give you my personal opinion and experience with your question...Maybe this will help with understanding, maybe it won't, but sometimes, it's your only choice when people screw with you when you can't screw with them back. Especially, if they look at you and your gripe like it's "Nothing/Unimportant/easily dismissed", etc.

Had a female try that old "Get the white guy I don't like fired by using the race card" Bullsh*t. I knew she didn't like me and I her, but to get someone fired for it is being a POS IMO. So, with no further recourse after being "Escorted" to the door, I simply took out my frustrations on her ride at about 3:00 AM...

I heard she had to park that turd as it never ran again...

Also my first thought, no doubt, he did something.   The unfortunate part is that "something"  was probably minor.  He probably (and maybe unknowingly) damaged the delicate and precious self esteem of these brats.

Remember, we have a large part of a generation under 30 that grew up never being told no, never dealing with rejection, and never experiencing loss or failure.   So when they encounter adversity they have no coping mechanisms.  They just melt down. (someones ass has to be kicked)

Who knows?  Maybe the guy touched someones kid.  Someone went after him in the only way they could to deeply hurt him without touching him.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
