Hub vs lug is a moot point on an aluminum wheel with machined holes. Every machining operation is referenced off the center register. Unless the machining center being used is complete crap, all the holes are right on the money. You situation pretty much has to be a casting flaw since the wheel checked true.

Steel wheels are a different story. Those holes are punched during the course of a stamping operation. There is a lot more opportunity for inconsistency in that process.

Replacement wheel was on the steps this morning.   Took it to E-boogers and we spun it with no tire and the new one came in spinning 0's

Rick basically said that the original magnums need to be stud balanced because there is no center register unlike these cast wheels.

I could be wrong, but I don't think those are the Year One cast Magnums. Those are either Billet Vintiques or AR500s.

They do look like the 17" AR500's, here's a picture of a AR500.

Just had an email from yearone in regards to the 17" rallye's, it reads - We contacted the supplier and they have delayed the first shipment of all the wheels till the first week of January! Sorry!

Wookie316

Doesn't surprise me. As long as I have mine by April, I will still have lots of time to be ready for spring up here.

If you guys keep getting the run around, I strongly suggest finding a different wheel company.  I say wait until January and give YO an ultimatum.  This thing started in May.

Are those the rallys that were on sale for $129.00 a couple months back, waiting a few more months are worth it.

Snooze / lose    :shruggy:      The set of Rallye's is still listed  $699.   Again... it's a PRE-ORDER.   Prices go up when they get in stock.    Latest on website says Jan 15.

Ok I got my new wheels, got some Nitto's mounted, and went to put them on the charger today but realised the centre cap retainers Year One sent me wouldn't work. The ones they sent me are exactly the same as the originals I.e they have the five tabs to locate on the spokes but these don't work with the new style cast wheels. I have contacted YO and am waiting on a reply, but I was wondering what others have used. I was contemplating seeing if they would fit if I cut the five locating tabs off.

Looking on their website they seem to have ones that are just rounded, and black.

So again what have others used or been sent?

Cheers

I got the originals as well as a black plastic cap. The plastic one is what I used. It fits perfect in the machined lip. That is what you need.

It's these deals here.   https://www.yearone.com/Product/1966-74-a-b-e-body/mwr2

I got centercaps from PG classics and had to order these from YO.      I also got some m6 studs and nuts as I couldn't get the screws that were sent with the centercaps to work - too short.

Thanks for the info. YO got back to me and they said they have supplied the incorrect ones. But they are making good on it and sending me out the correct ones priority mail. Can't ask for much more than that.

I tell ya what though, it definately had me scratching my head when I was putting the wheels on.

Will post pics when caps arrive and she is looking as good as she can.
