I stare lovingly and cautiously at my charger every time I pull my new car in or out of the garage. (8 inches of clearance   :o   ) I touched the right rear tire the other day.

I sure miss driving it.    :'(

put a MSD blaster epoxy filled coil & matching  ballast resister on  the other week

also been running an experement  since last october  , of a propper meatered return line back to the tank  ,
with a 1/4 inch pipe with a  o.60 hole restrictor  ,  clear plastic fuel filter is just tempory to see how its working ,
will make up steel 1/4 hard line with correct fittings  ,   it really makes a difference  when idling  for long periods in traffic  ,in hot weather !! ,  think this is deffo the plan to have cooler fuel running through the carb & constantly back to the tank    :yesnod:
still undecided to do away with the hemi mechanical fuel pump  , put  a carter electric  back on  :scratchchin:

Nothing. I have only seen it in pictures. (I am working in Indiana, found the car Eastern KS, had my wife and son go pick it up) I hope to pick it up either this or next weekend and start working on it. FIRST: Replace some broken wheel studs, then drive it around!
:o)

Brass

Racked up about 200 miles this past weekend.  :icon_smile_big:

Pretty much sold it to replace with a 67 Mustang Fastback Eleanor  :pity:

and finally some miles!

Patronus how do you find that air cleaner?

Had to do some tap tap with the ball hammer to make it work around the mancini kick down linkage (its a drop base) Way better than the pos old one slowly burning up into my carb!

If you are talking work done, adjusted the sending unit on the same car (again) this last wk.

Also filled it with fuel (recurring event it seems) :shruggy:

Nothing.  Talk/Curse about it and consider getting rid of it.

That's depressing... Pics and price?  :popcrn:

I'll get around to posting some pics.  It was appraised at 18.5 a couple of years ago.  I've gone over that now with the gear vendors unit and with the other crap I got for it I'd want more.  I'm well aware of it's faults and am not a motivated seller.

To sum up what I read on another thread, "life throws curve balls, your interests change, and it looks like I've just been hanging on to this car for the next guy."

Not really something to with the restoration side of things, but I do have a benefit coming up for a little boy who had half of his brain removed. He's an avid fan of the DOH and one of his wishes for his B-day Saturday is to ride in General Lee. I will do my best to make it come true and snap a few pics for ya'll.

Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

If you think Education is difficult, try being stupid!

Fred

After many shoddy tries I finally got a perfect wheel alignment the other day.  I won't lose this guys number. He's the first bloke that managed to get it right.

You're running an electric pump?  Where is it installed on your car?  I have mine on the rear frame rails and man is that thing loud!

bit of info
although mine was a  unrerstored  , original 63 thousand mile car ,  when i got it  ,  except  these  mods ,  the motor was  then out of a 69 imperial stock 350 hp motor ( original # R/T motor  blown up in the mid to late 70s i believe) , but had a different cam in it   ,  a 2.94 surgrip rear  , two extra leaf springs  on each side  , 2-1/2" duel exhausts  no H pipe  & glass packs ,  & this  twin fuel pump set up  ,  no vapour separator  & no  return  , just a 3/8 line looked factory shaped line  with  two rubber  joins in it ,  matched factory location exact ,  looked at least as old as the car as the rest of the car  at the time  :shruggy:  ,

anyways , getting back to the electric AC  fuel pump , it made a  noise  , but not a bad one  no buzz , more like   dud dud dud  dud  tapping noise  , once the motor fired  , could not hear it cause of the glass packs  ( love that sound  :drool5:)
first picture AC pump , (  not sure its the same one  , as no part numbers on mine ) just used it for referance! looks same !
second  picture where it was
mounted  , with a combination  of a band type clamp rubber bushes insulating mounting bolts  , to the L shaped bracket  , thats also in the third picture  with the carter pump ,
had that set up for  a while  , but hearing  / reading   how electric  pumps can fill the oil pan with gas  should the mechanical one fail , split diaphragm  ,  decided to put the AC electric pump on a switch  , ( as if offers no restriction when off )  only use  when starting  hot  or  after standing a few days  , ( fill the carb)
i will say the motor felt stronger with both pumps  defiantly , so foot in it  ,   :yesnod: would  switch on electric  ,
((((i did wonder why it made a  difference you could feel  , when  the motor was pretty much stock at the time  except for a  unknown  grind cam swap , even measured the  mechanical  pump push rod , thinking  it was worn , but it was perfect !!
worn eccentric  fuel pump lobe on cam  :scratchchin: :shruggy: , ))))
thats how it stayed , for a couple of years  , then  decided  , put a  no regulator required  carter  6psi electric  pump on , mounted it in same place as the AC pump ,  blanked off   mechanical fuel pump opening  after removing the push rod,
one thing i did to , was  remover the L shaped mounting  bracket &   use a rubber gasket between it &  floor where it bolted to .

just running  a mechanical Hemi street pump now  , but  thinking about running the  carter electric  one again  ,  only thing is  have welded up the  L bracket  bolt holes now  , when i done the resto  :slap: , & the 3" TTI pipes are far  too close   :scratchchin: ,  will have to think of a new location

Vainglory, Esq.

1) Fixed an exhaust leak.

2) Got a new power steering pump, and hooked it up to the radiator for cooling.

3) New steering box going in. Holy God they're expensive.

4) Replaced the clutch assembly and flywheel. Moved from 10.5" to 11" stuff.

5) That messed with the starter, so I'm going to a mini-starter. Mancini 644, I think.

6) Alignment. The camber was just screwed up.

I think that's a pretty good punch list for this summer. Next summer, I'm planning on finishing off some of the aesthetic stuff that doesn't affect driveability as much. I'm thinking I'll finally fix the electric headlight motor, get the woodgrain dash panels in, get a new steering wheel, fix the hood pins, and detail the engine bay. Of course by then I'm sure I'll have other stuff go wrong.

Recently, I have done the following:

Replaced burnt-out license plate bulb
Fixed / tightened wobbly rear view mirror (inside)
Changed to new (modern) tires

Plans:
Replace wiper arms/blades
Investigate reverse lights
Install radiator shroud

What have you done to yours, lately?

Replaced the wiper blades... http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,94357.msg1076552.html#msg1076552

Bought new reverse bulbs - but read that there may be more to it than bulbs...  :shruggy:

...and looking for pic of 1969 26" shroud - which end is up?   :popcrn:

69 big block 26" fan shroud , can only be fitted one way  ,  because it has 3 mounting holes on the driverside  & 2 on passanger side  , which corriespond to the same amount of mounting  studs on the radiator .
