Took it out for the first time in weeks because of the near-constant rains, only to be nearly rear ended by someone in an Alero who wasn't paying attention.  Why do I even bother leaving my house, ever?   Anyway I burned my wallet and a tank of gas just running errands.  I even got a thank-you note from Saudi Arabia for my efforts...

Busy man UH60L !

I replaced the cheap chrome dipstick with a milodon flexible steel dipstick.  The chrome one was blocking the hole on the steering box for the fitting that is supposed to go there.
Also put the radiator back in, Champion replaced the one that was leaking.
That and a water heater replacement, it was a productive weekend.

Oh, I like that.  Where did you find such an item?
The one I see at Jegs is Chebby only.  And summit doesn't specify.
How can you be sure you are getting a correct reading?   :popcrn:

Funny story, I got it from a friend who had ordered one many years back.  Company sent him 2, and didn't want the extra back; wasn't worth return shipping.  This one was for a 440 and I think some Fords also, I'd have to check the package.

On the oil level reading, I confirmed I was full prior to removing the old dipstick; then installed the new one and made a mark with a pair of dikes.

That is sweet!  Details?  Real wood?  Thickness?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Well... If you are asking me to guess I'll go with some sort of blue since his thread on his car mentions several blue colors
