A stock headed 440 would use a Champion J11-y plug. What is the equivalent NGK#  ?

Thanks, Craig.

The XR5 is my favorite stock head/pump gas compression spark plug.  :2thumbs:

Who else here misses the spark plug cross-reference chart on the local independent Auto Parts' counter pad?

It's worse than that, we miss the actual independent auto parts store.  It's all Advance auto, O'Reilly, Carquest or Autozone.  I was lucky to find one or two people at O'Reilly that weren't quite brain dead yet and I found two Carquests with good, knowledgable staff.  The rest...not so much.

I still have a local NAPA that is independently owned and operated, by the same family since the 60's. I do consider myself lucky to have a source that's knowledgeable and gives a crap, and is out of puberty.

Remind me to tell the story of the kid at K-Mart auto center that argued to the point of anger that there was no such thing as a sealed beam headlamp with only two contacts.

If you are looking for a true replacement for the J11Y, the XR5 is too hot.  The XR5 is J12Y to J14Y.  If your CR is lower than factory (factory actual about 9.5:1) the XR5 is fine.  The R5670-6 is equivalent to a J10Y to J11Y.

The Accel 134 is also a good replacement for the J11Y.

Hmm..., strange numbering system. XR 5 is a J12-14y  , but a J11y is not a XR 6.
