Who makes fender scoops that are NOS quality?

I'm not aware of anyone who casts the serial #'s in the bottom side of a copy. If that is so then it is pretty easy to tell an original scoop.

If it is a situation where it makes no difference, then someone will buy a less expensive copy.

I sold one of those mats for $800 in 2010.    It sold so fast, that I knew I was under the real value, whatever it was.     There are only so many of these pieces around.   Yes, $2k is a lot of money.    But again, the repop mats are embarrassing to put in a high end car.   They are that bad.   

The scoops should sell for close to that.   Might be easier if he split them up.

I wouldnt call a 70 plymouth B-body rare but if youre doing a Superbird or a hemi car and want an OE restoration than the NOS parts are what youll be buying.  
Ive bought a lot of parts from Ken, I wish I got his NOS mat, it wouldve saved me from having the one I bought being shipped.

I bought new legendary seat covers front/back,carpet,headliner,package tray,dash pad,front upper door pads, and a new trunk mat about $1600


Not apples to apples, but still mind boggling none the less.

That stuff was Ron Adair's,he passed away some years ago and the fellow who was with him now has the ebay store.He had most anything N.O.S. but as far as his ridiculous pricing he could give Frank Mitchell a run for his money.

Mind boggling.

I bought new legendary seat covers front/back,carpet,headliner,package tray,dash pad,front upper door pads, and a new trunk mat for under 2k.

And that stuff is fine for probably 95 percent of the people restoring Chargers.   Heck, I'd be fine with all that myself (except for the mat).     I think most of us would be shocked to know the collective parts bill on the blue, red, yellow and white OEM gold Daytonas.   Not the whole resto bill.    Just the NOS or OEM parts.    None of these people are what you or I would call "rich guys".  But there is a reason they bought and traded for a LOT of OEM parts.

I couldn't even venture to guess the total cost invested in the oe cars.

I have nothing against the people that pay those crazy prices for NOS stuff.

I just feel that the cars were made to be drove either with $500 set of NOS plug wires or a $70 msd set. To each their own. Chances are the MSD wires will go more miles

I was scratching at surface of an OE restoration until I finally caved in and couldnt afford it if I wanted to finish the car, I did have a lot of parts restored to a very high level and have a lot of NOS I just couldt do it 100%.

Im confident Ill have a nicely restored Bird no matter what.

The plan was to restore and drive the balls off it but since I went overboard on the project that lies in limbo....it may see trailer time afterall. I didnt want a laughable restoration so I made it clear to the shop that it needed to be sweet and I had too much time to kill so I started buying the $$$ parts.

The good news is I dont own a trailer so itll get driven for a while!
