I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Nice photos, I'll have to celebrate tonight and watch "The Chargers" or some old wing car footage or both.

Aero426

On this day, March 25, 1970,  Buddy Baker and the Chrysler Engineering #88 Daytona tested at Talladega WITHOUT side glass in anticipation of new rules intended to slow the cars from 200 mph speeds.   The removal of side glass slowed Baker to the 197 mph range.    Removal of side glass for the April 70 race at Talladega is the reason that claims of 200 mph race laps are difficult to swallow.

Saw this on Facebook.  you would think if they would go to the trouble to make this, they would at least get the correct Daytona on it.......... :rotz:

Hey Greg that model car had the Chrysler logo and name on the rear seat/trunk closeout panel--what's the full text there, and was it on the 1:1 scale car?

Bad comparisons as usual!
If Ford-Folks are gonna do stuff about past-records they have to best relative...
A 351 1987 Ford engine is a totally different set-up to a 1970 426 hemi.
The late 80's Nascars were highly engineered Kit-cars, not built on a street-car chassis.
If Nascar was now using 'all aluminum' 426 Hemi's now, they would be between 2,000 and 10,000 horsepower lol...
Mother Mopar would be breaking the 300mph closed course record FOR SURE!!!
IF A JOB's WORTH DOING, ITS WORTH DOING WELL, RIP DAD.
4-SPEED, 1969 Charger-500 is the most Coolio car in the World!
