Title: Painting plastic interior parts...adhesion promoter or no?
Post by: AKcharger on February 06, 2023, 08:18:40 PM
The plastic parts I am talking about HAVE ALREADY BEEN PAINTED and I used adhesion promoter (AP) when I did them (2005) so yes ordinarily I would not ask but since I'm painting ON TOP OF EXISTING paint does AP add any value? or just paint away??

Thanks

If you're painting over existing paint then no need for the promoter.

Just like Dino said.

Your adhesion to the plastic is already done. Your now just trying to get paint to stick to paint. Which is pretty easy.

Curious what are you painting ?

The '72 Charger is torn apart for paint and I have about 4 cans of blue interior paint...figured now would be a good time.
