How did some of you come up with your usernames? Some are obvious, but some are obscure.
Mine comes from a silver 69 Charger that I used to own. Someone had given the car the nickname "ghost" and it stuck. When I went to get custom plates for the car, all I could get was "GHOSTE" with an "E". Ghost and Ghost1 thru about 20 were all gone and I didn't want a number on there anyway so I just added the "E".
Now, 15 year later, it's the car I should have kept and I still have the plates so I just use that for an online identity.
mine came from license plates also,i used to drive a 74 camaro z 28,there was about 5 different guys around with cars that looked like mine, different colors but all 2nd gen chevs,so when i joined a car club, the guys started calling me andy 74,as there was an andy already there! so that was my plates, and although the car and plates are long gone, the name sticks!!!!!!!!
I remember waking up in the middle of the night once with a pain in my head because my wife was hitting me there with part of a steering linkage screaming "I'm sick of hearing about all these old mopars" & thought she dragged out the last syllable too long because it sounded like a "Z". I've been spelling it that way ever since.
Nice, Moparz! :D
Mine's probably obvious...I like Charger's. 8)
I got my name "NYCMille" because I used to do a bit a roadracing and my race bike at the time I joined D-C.com was an Aprillia RSV Mille - that and the fact that I was born in lower Manhattan and grew up in or around NYC my whole life.
My name is PlumBad70, I don't know why cause I'm painting my car sublime...I debated on what color to paint the 70, since most of you guys reconize PlumBad70, I didn't change it....I guess I could be called SlimeBad70 ;D
Nah, stick with the Plumbad.
I would say "See Robotech conversation on D-C" but well, those threads are gone...
basicly it was my first online name I used in 1993, and have used it sence. He was a character in Robotech, Tall, skinny, and an a$$hole, just like me :D
My girlfriend said that I looked and acted like a dragon when I woke up in the morning and since I'm German I decided Drache which is german for Dragon! ::)
A high school knickname given to me for my ability to run people over on the football field.
My parents thought it up for me ;D
My nic *Mefirst* is a rip off from a band named "Mefirst and the Gimme Gimmes" I thought about Gimme or GimmeGimmes to, but that sounds just like a little kid, so I took the "Mefirst" instead. Ive used this nic for a long time...
/Tom
PocketThunder.. well....... um....... the ladies all know where that comes from.....hehehe ;D :o :o
on a side note. i just registered and i was member #68. Damn! one more and i would have been sixty nine baby!!!!
Most of you know I'm a retired cop. My buddies use to tell me I sound like Elvis on the radio. My first name is Tim. Telvis is a combination of the two. Unfortunately I don't have the hair. Slick as a cue ball! My wife likes it though. ;D

I figured it was what you yelled when racing against mustangs in your Charger! "Me First Damnit!"
skyhawk61 was my call sign back when I flew air search and rescue/crime scene aerial photography/air surveillance for our local sheriff's department back in the day.
My initials.
Slick 8) was my nickname in High School. I had to change the spelling for my License plates so I kept it the same as a Username. 70 is for my 1970 Charger 500.
Well, it is a long story...the short story is that it is what I own, and the long story that it is a word play using selective capitalization of the car model name, engine size and my first name; kinda clever if I do say so. ;) When, if ever, I get my '68 I suppose the name will change to 68RT44073SEDan400... but by that time it hopefully will be 68RT44073SEDan451.
73SEDan400
Uh, i live in New Hampshire and i own a Charger or two.
Mine is a reference from a line in the movie 'The Golden Child' with Eddie Murphy. The part where he is in the cave to get the knife and right before he drinks the water he toasts to Monty. One night my friends and I were having a get together and we had a toast and someone said To Monty! Somehow it caught on and we toast to monty every time we get together. Kinda lame, but everything is a lot cooler when your inebriated.

Um, no imagination.
I have a yellow cuda ;D
Sorta comes with the territory I guess. Been puttin' up with the thing for 38 years. One hell of a ride to enjoy.

I own a General Lee replica.
It's big
It's black
It's a Dodge.
Creative aren't I? :P
BBD
"Strato"
from which stratus is obtained means "layer" or "layered." Clouds with this designator form in stable layers of air; except the stratocumulus type which forms in a thin, unstable layer of air.
"Charger"
a strong horse ridden into battle

(almost as nice and worth as much as my "Skunkenstein")
My thinking was a type of steed to fly high in... and to me a Charger is to Horses as a Stratocaster is to Guitars..
and as for my othernames.... more posts to follow...
Mine is probably obvious to most, but...
xs29j8 - First part of the VIN for a 1968 Charger R/T optioned with a Hemi engine
Bullitt - My Charger is Triple Black... like the one in the movie "Bullitt"
On most forums I am just "xs29j8"
XS
My initials, and I have a 69 Charger, well mostly 69... ummm.. it still has some 69 parts... ok,ok, it left the factory as a 69, and it has a 440 for "motor-vation"
I Own one
I'm building a Daytona clone out of my 69 R/T SE ;D
Mine is real obvious. I have a 66 361 Charger. It was either that.... or Diana (her name). Which would you chose?
Came up with formula_440 as a band name back when the band I was in was looking to change it's name.
Kept it floating around in the ol' brain, and then I started my hunt for a Charger back in "02, found D-C.com and needed a screen name.
Since I wanted a 440 powered Charger, I figured, hey... maybe I need a formula for going about it.
So, I remembered formula_440 from way back, and it was what I went with.
Johnny
p.s. It's also a class of race car. ;D
Mine came from a hot rod magazine in the 1980's when custom plates were the new wave. I saw one from Texas that said 4cruzin and it stuck with me. Now I have that on my plate on one car along with 4showin on the other!
Wakko from the Animaniacs and various endings "SS" for my SS Monte Carlo, then "GN" for my Grand National, now I just dropped it all off out of simplicity.
its the vin designation to the [3] 440-6 cars i own
PH23VOD105485 Y28 YEL/BLK
PH23VOF143370 Y14 BLK/BLK
PH23VOF144031 BLK/ORANGE
dan
just like my charger is, Silver R/T
Mine is pretty simple.
My first name is "Fastback" and I like a car called a "Jon".
So put them together and viola!
Mine is fairly obvious. I had thought about changing it to give justice to my '68 but, I did not need to confuse myself anymore than necessary. ;D
The movie The Big Lebowski, hands down the funniest movie ever made. Right up there with Caddyshack, Blazing Sattles, Blues Bros, Slapshot, etc.
My car (73w400) is the first Charger here in Croatia, so I guess my username is obvious.
ChargerRob, I figured my Charger is more important that I am so it goes first.
A few years ago when I started the search to purchase a Charger my kids gave me a replica collectable model car of a Charger R/T for my birthday - they said if they had the money they would of gotten me the real car. Anyway, this model of the Charger R/T had a license plate that read "2tuff4u", So I added the 440 because that's what R/T's came with so that's "4402tuff4u"
Thought it up on the spot when we had to reregister at Moparts. Plus I have a 69 that I hope to complete before I die.
RD = Race Dodge = the cars that I race (except i am building a duster for drag now, hmmmm RP = Race Plymouths or RM = Race Mopars, who knows, i may have to change it in the near future).
it is also a claim for all those brand x'ers to race the best instead of what they think they have. :icon_smile_approve:
it can also be a command, but it would be just preachign to the choir in a dodge charger forum, we are going to race dodge's anyways!
Well my name IBsmokin, well I use to own a seed company selling seeds named IBS seeds, IBsmokin seeds, IB comes from the community I live in Indian Brook, and of course it sounds like I be smoking, I dont smoke it but I made alot of money off of the seeds, and since it is legal to buy and sell seeds in Canada, why not. Then I found this site, and I thought I would keep the name IBsmokin, for laying burn outs and smoking my tires, since most of my cars in past laid some nice rubber and left the street in a cloud of smokin, so hence IBsmokin!!
Is it legal to sell the seeds everywhere in Canada or is that a BC thing?

My friends have called me Spike for over 20 years, they name just stuck.
You may have seen me at DC as Only DODGE in my garage and at Moparts as Quick B.

When your in the Witness Protection Program, its the ONLY thing you keep!

Me & my mate on a bus heard a woman talkin' 'bout her puppy which she was convinced was psychic...so I whispered to my mate 'psychicpuppy'' in the style of Scrappydoo (from Scoobydoo) (you know 'puppypower' an all that. lol)
we didnt stop laughing till she got off the bus & my mate suggested one day I should use it as an internet nickname.....so I did!....didnt have spellcheck then tho lol

Well, it all goes back to when I was 8 or 9 years old. I went to a friends birthday party. It was a sleepover type thing, so we spent the night. Well, he lived on a farm, which had 2 houses, a newer one, which him and his family lived in, and the original farmhouse, which was supposed to be haunted. Well, on a dare, I went to spend an hour in the farmhouse, and, my devious little mind came up with a way to scare the crap out of my friends. I went outside to the shed, got some chains and stuff, and went back in the farmhouse, and waited. Part of the dare was that if I didn't come back in an hour, my friends would come look for me, in case I was hurt or something. So, after an hour, they all came, which was when I started moaning, and rattling the chains, and walking around upstairs, which of course sent them all running outside screaming their heads off. I followed them, laughing my ass off, and, since that day, I got the nickname of Ghost. ;D

Getting back to the subject. I own a 68 Convertable Dart GT, Factory 318 and automatic. Nothing special but I like it. I almost did a trade a few months ago. But You guys talked me out of it. Thanks!

Uhm lessee...Doc because some people called me mr. car doctor a few times, just doc later on which is much easier and it stuck and 74 since it was the year I was born. So no 74 charger here, only 69.
I thought about changing to Doc69 but people might get the wrong idea, confusing the car I own is one thing.
Well, in '68 I bought a new yellow R/T. In '69 I sold it. In '97 bought a '68 Charger and made it into the clone of the one I had in '68, thus the car is recharged along with the driver. Bob

No Matt, really. Just giving you a hard time. Mine is pretty simple as well.. Well technically if you look at my title, the car says 73, but since it was made in Dec 1973 most probably consider it a 74. This was and still is my first mopar. I've had my sig name for about 8 years now...as soon as I bought my computer and grabbed a hotmail account.
I wanted something appropriately "Mopar-esque", and since I had a Charger with a 440 Magnum, I cojoined the words into something that nobody else had already come up with.
Little knowing that D-C would start production of both the new Magnum and Charger within a couple of years.
Now there's a whole pile of "after-rans" with my handle, and a number after it....
Black car. Easy to figure out if you know Mopars. If not some think I'm from Texas.
My initials, but that was to short so i did take my Ebay username :icon_smile_big:

I have no imagination........my 2 daughters names are Sydnee and Morgan=Sydmoe
Ummm........... ;)
My nick name is skippy (long story) and my dream car is my 68 charger so I just came up with the great skip68. :shruggy:
Well, since I changed mine... :D

My brother(and best friend in the world) is a GM salesman in Jersey, when I was a kid he would always see me building models and finding ways to wedge larger engines into them (a habit I still possess on a much bigger scale). He'd walk by and say "how did you get to be such a friggin motorhead?!" Much like my old man ,he never understood the addiction.
I wrote and published a book.......and my nickname is dano so there ya go

That's what I had thought too, PT :shruggy:
My S/N isn't terribly inventive, but it gets the job done. I've been using the same moniker on different forums since the late 90's - before I bought my Daytona, or else I'd probably have gone with something related to an Aero car. I'm pretty much a creature of habit, so I've just left it alone.
Oh, and my Dad has called me Geno since I was a little guy. Growing up, those who called me Eugene usually went away with a bruise or two... :icon_smile_blackeye:

Most people think that mine's a religious reference however, it's actually from the DOH. Lostsheep was their CB handle and 01 is on the sides of the General. Don't worry, folks, my '69 won't be a General clone. I'm just a big fan of the show and always wanted a '69.

Ha,ha,ha. No.
Think cattle: Head is the horns; heel is the hooves.
In addition to my interest in anything old and Mopar, I also collect (although not as much anymore) and have a pretty decent old comic book collection (not interested in newer stuff) One of my favorite characters is a larger than life superhero named Captain Marvel (who gave Superman a real serious run for his money in the 40's/50's in terms of popularity and sales- until DCs attorneys put the good Capt. out to pasture) Ive always liked that character and his old fashioned boy scout values and positve outlook (unlike todays so called heroes with their P'OD attitudes and lack of morals) I can kind of relate to the Capt. I guess. BTW, Im not quite old enough to remember him in his prime, I just usually tend to gravitate towards old fashioned stuff in general. Kind of like the other day at work, someone was trying to identify an old car in a photo. Without skipping a beat, I said 56 Packard Clipper, about 5 others were clueless as to what it was or had never even heard the name of the marque. They all said that I get to retain my status as the old car guru. :icon_smile_big:
well my Charger is rusty and the General Lee makes Rusty Lee
I belonged to a Harley riders club and there were two Teds so I became Diego Ted since I was from San Diego.
Diego
Mine's easy to figure out. I own a 71 Challenger and I'm a Her.
mine is also easy to guess ......... original vinyl top color ;D

I was between Chargers when I joined the forum so I used the GTX name - the only Mopar muscle I owned at the time.
Had to claim it while I could.
Mine is easy.... I build Communications Networks for a living (Cellular Companies, Radio & TV, and Military. It always requires some rigging work for buildings, towers, etc. etc. where cranes don't work, helicopters do, and on some we have to get real creative to get the site done.
Anyway, mine is: A - Rig - Master for that reason. It's also reflected a bit in my avatar too. Some of my guys and even clients think I have some Egyptian blood in me somewhere because I always seem to have a solution to what looks nearly impossible.
It's my first name...
pic in avatar explains it.

And here I always thought it was the name of your neighbor's pet parakeet. :D
It's what my wife allways does.
I have a 74 Charger and he is resembling this........
Was my nickname in high school back in 1977. Stuck with me ever since.
Ummm, well according to my wife i"m obsessed with the cars in my name.
Then again I wouldn't disagree with her.
My daily driver is the "Batmobile".........for real, looks just like it.
Pretty simple....I got a 69 Charger thats T5 Copper but I messed up and put Bronze.
A 1969 Coronet was the first Mopar i found rusting into the ground down in Southern IL. I seem to have a hard time finding Mopars.
I lived in Alaska, had a Charger...AKcharger. I should change it to FLcharger...do we have one of those??
Holeeeeee Crap.....A 16 year old thread brought back. LOOK at all those screen names of dudes that are long gone.
Been around since this thread started, but I guess I never provided input. Lots of long gone folks there....
My name is Mike of course, I used to have a 440 Rallye Charger and run road Rallies. The 74 is now gone and I've been on a hiatus from racing, ....though a comeback is in the works.

do you have a Charger to race anymore?
My last name and I like corn dogs. I just merged the two for silly word play.

Uh, I live in New Hampshire and I own a Charger or two.
My reply from July 2005.
hemi71x was the California personalized license plate that i had on my Hemi 1971 Plymouth GTX 4 speed car.
So hemi71x became my user ID on all the car related web sites, when i got a computer, back in the day.
Something easy for me to remember.
When i was selling the car, i wanted to remove the plates and hang them on the wall as wall art.
The new owner was insistent that i leave them on the car.
So i did.
Guess he wanted to register the car with those plates on it, but i never knew if he did or not.
He had the car for years, in his muscle car collection, and it has since been sold off to another owner.
It was up for auction at one of the big auction sites last year, and didn't sell, and now a days i haven't a clue anymore where it might be, or who now owns it.
My car was sitting in the garage with an inch of dust on it from all the sanding. My son walked in and wrote nvrbdn1 in the dust and said.. "Do you know what that is?" I said no, what is it? He said "It's your license plate. "Never Be Done 1" It did take me about 14 years to get it done. So I kept the name. "nvrbdn"
"Timmy" was influenced first by my favorite South Park character which I named one of my cats after since its fun to yell out "TIMMAY"!!! like the character does.
Ive used that name for PS4, youtube, ebay, email, etc so why change it now?
I had a few non-Mopar folks call my car "brown", and then add to the fact that T3 Light Bronze is not exactly a popular color, that is how I chose mine.
I have been using the user name Thrashingcows since I started coming on message boards 20+ years ago. I signed up here in 2005 under that name, tried to sign in again recently but have forgotten my password and the E-mail is no longer valid so had to sign up again under a new user name...T-cows...which is just a shortened version.
This name came from a discussion I had with a friend in high school about the alternative, metal, thrash, punk music we listened to and we were talking about weird band names. This led to coming up with our own crazy band names and one of mine was "The Thrashing Pink Cows"....So when I started going on line back in the late 90's and needed a user name I remembered that band name, dropped the pink and got Thrashingcows. :icon_smile_big:
P.S....if a moderator would like to help me get back into my old account I would very much appreciate it!!

For anyone that does competive shooting, namely IDPA , you'll know where my user name comes from.

At one time we had three Hemi's: 68 Road Runner, 69 Daytona, and 70 Cuda, so it seemed appropriate. Now it's a 68 RR and 09 Ram PU. Soon to have a second Hemi for our 68 RR.

How about some of these screen names....
Eccentric Magpies.
Too Cheap To Smoke.
Barfyspitz.
Cooter.
First letter of my kids names H and M.
Also the name of my business but that's H & M Construction
Whatever happened to Ghoste? Have been active in a couple of years.
I thought I was posted here in the past, but it seems not.
My first screen name on the old board was Venezuelan_RT74. Sure it is because my 74 Charger was assembled in Vzla and all Chargers there were marketed as R/T.
Now Nacho-RT74 because my name is Ignacio and Nacho is the "shortname" or "nickname" for Ignacio. This change was made when the new board floated to replace the old board.
Fortunatelly never bought the old board T-Shirts LOL
dont remember answereing this in a earlier post in this thread :rotz:
yes because the original vinyl top color,
but theres more of a story to it , ive memtioned the story somewhere on here before years back.
some of you newer guys might be interested in reading it hear goes !
decided on then screen name tantop because way back when i was looking for a charger late 1988 i did not know much about fender tag codes all i knew was , must be XS29L9 & an original Y2 yellow car on the fendertag :yesnod: with black interior & black vinyl top , & thats what the charger had :yesnod: was only after a few months / year after i got it , started learning more about fender tag codes ( remember long before the internet) found A47 on the fender tag & broadcast sheet ! special edition , CRX that original black interior, i was not really fussed about being a SE but explained the wood grain dash to which i prefured the black pebble grain :P , then found V1T :scratchchin: yellow car black interior with a tan top ? :shruggy: never seen or heard about another XP or XS since , about late 89 i think i bought the book *charger as only dodge could build it* in there it gave a paragraph of text on the vinyl top color combinations with paint & interior for the 69, must of read it ten times over & over , what i could make out Y2 with a black interior & tantop was not a combination that was recomemded or offered, back then thought, must be a typo on the tag broadcast sheet & left it at that , was only after taking it appart right down to the very last nut bolt clip & screw when i done the nut & bolt reatoration , to my supprise still under the front windshield reveal stainless trim moulding clips was the remains of the original tan vinyl top ! so it did have tan :P what odd choice IMO prolly explains why a spd of november 22nd 1968 & was not sold to the first owner till june 1969 , as mentioned never seen heard of another since, found dodgechargerdotcom 2001 /2 i think & joind up with user name you guessed it Tantop ;D then about 10 years ago contacted Chris when he was running the registry , & he had 69 charger R/T registered with Y2 paint C6T tan interior & V1X black vinyl think it was a V88 to , close kind of :yesnod: ( which was now or then orange with a hemi)
if mine is one of one color combo , dont think it add any value what so ever to it anyway. i know some guys get caught up in the whole 1 of 7 or 400 or etc good luck to them if thats what they are into. for me would just like to find another with that color combo & or a picture of the fender tag , cant imagin who would have ordered that as a color combo on their new charger yuck :eek2:  it was not a ordered car , maybe dodge sent out a few odd color combos with a tan top to dealers to grab attention as V1T was new for 69 dont think it worked well if that was the case mine sat unsold for at least 6 months :icon_smile_blackeye:
besides everyone knows only color for a second generation is yellow with black top & interior ;D :drool5: ;)
just kidding guys all factory color combinations are awesome in their own way love them all :yesnod: :drool5: :yesnod:
