Anybody know what happened to that 69 white Daytona with no plug /red stripe and an R/T emblem in the back? Anybody have the picture? I was wondering if anybody ownes that car. :2thumbs:
If you are talking about the Charger that was cobbled up as a photo shoot car that Chrysler used, it likely no longer exists. I personally doubt it ever made it outside captivity.
I remember seeing a picture of that car on this website...but I can't find it....does anybody know what thread it was in?
this one !! only picture i have saved !! sure there are one or two better ones , think from memory theres a good one with a chrysler water tower in the background :scratchchin:
also car on a dodge dealer Ad :scratchchin:
:popcrn:
There is 1 on a track with a girl posing with it that shows the non plug and R/T emblem. :icon_smile_wink:
I got a few magazine article on that mystery white car and prototype daytona
And in another 69 vintage magazine road test they show the mold and the glass nose prototype car in the studio. With model Sandra Quinn posing in front of the mold.Which lead some early magazine editors. And probably when it was in its earliest development stages to believe fiberglass was to be used on the front end. I recall reading in the supercars book where the automotive press was invited to view a prototype daytona with a glass nose and wing.April 69.And that they used a ((500)).But I only recall seeing in the magazines .
That white mule car with 3 hood pins pasted on reflectors taped out headlights etc etc .And it didnt have a flush rear window as a 500
There was a post that guy s mom worked at Bill Strange dodge and drove and owned that white mule car he claimed .But was just rumored never showed any proof

There was also a public relations photo from Chrysle of that White /red mock up car
I got the color photo in a frame here...somewhere
You can see the R/T badge on its tail panel
does anybody know what the car in the bottom left is? i say a prototype of a car by dodge a number of years ago in tenn. that said it was a daytona. any thought or pics out there?
Its still out there, was restored and has a new "mystery" owner! :'(
What color is the interior of the mystery Daytona? ::)
I think its a black interior from pictures Ive seen :Twocents:
i know about the supercharger and the topless versions that were made (thinking about doing one myself) i'm talking about the one to its left (orange)

If you look very carefully at the three cars at the bottom of the page, you'll see that the car on the right and the car on the left both say "Daroo II" on the license plate. Same car, front and rear view.

found the picture !! that i was going on about in the above post , did have it saved after all , just named it different for some unknown reason :-\ :scratchchin:
picture is not as good as i was remembering it !! thought sure it was at a higher angle & of the whole car :-\ , unless i was thinking of a nother daytona picture :shruggy:
It ended up in Canada.
Naaa, just a charger with a wing.
Had to dig waaay back for a pic.
The white Daytona had an aluminum wing but the nose was glass with black pin striping for head lights.

I was looking thru the supercars book and seen a bigger picture of the white daytona water tower picture.
