Title: Pistol grip shifter handle
Post by: 70 sublime on November 21, 2021, 10:23:33 PM
Rounding up parts to put a 4 speed in my car
I believe I have a non console shifter handle
I see the other handles have a zig and zag to them to get the handle over in the middle of the console more

Does the console vs non console shifter end up with the grip located in the same place relative to the driver ?

Compare the offset in the console handle below to the one in your pic, the offset places the handle nearer the console center and farther from the driver.

So the console set up puts the handle farther away from the driver

Has anyone switched from no console to a console set up and did not like it because the handle was farther away ?

Check out the pics about half way down page 16

I switch back and forth between the hurst 1969 style shifter as well as 1970 pistol grip, you can see where the handle falls.  :Twocents:
