Did Dodge ever put Holly carbs on the second generation Charger?
I understand they did in a few 383 4 barrel applications in 1970

Yes.
6bbls used Holleys.
There were 4bbl applications too.
No 6bbl on the charger. 6 pack....I know splitting hairs here :icon_smile_big:

Yes and no. 2 barrel and 4 barrels are flowed at different numbers. Apples to oranges, solid cam vs hydraulic. The 6 pack is actually a 950 if you want to talk like a 4 barrel.

6bbl = three 2 barrel carbs. (Tri power in non mopar lingo) also 440+6, 440 6 pack, 440 6 barrel. Dodge and Plymouth used different terms for it.
4bbl is just you everyday 4 barrel carb like and Edelbrock or Holley.
Just google each term and you will see plenty of info and pictures.
You can consider a barrel as the throat going down the carb. Look inside a 2 BBL and you will see two barrels, or venturi's going down. Look inside a 4 BBL and there are two in front, and two in back. A 6 BBL is a series of 2 BBL carbs on the intake manifold. So what would you call dual quads? We call them dual quads not 8 BBL, so go figure? They are 2- 4 BBL carbs on the intake manifold.

In the 2nd Gen Charger, I believe '70 was the only year where a single 4-bbl Holley was used...on the 383.
I have one on my 70 500. 383 HP-2 magnum. I just read yesterday on here that the 2 means second shift.

Air Conditioned motors commonly got Holleys, especially 383's in 69 and 70. I'm don't have many examples of 68's in my research. Mostly, depending on assembly plant, a big block w A/C in a given car was still Turquoise in 69 and had a Holley.
The Holley 4440 was used on 383's in '69 but not on Chargers (the subject).

Never say never with Mopar. My 383 w AC has a factory Holley. I'm the second owner, and I still see the first owner. I have seen other 69 383 cars w AC and a factory Holley at Carlisle.
