And if it was, does anyone have pics of it?
It appears so... http://bigbadamc.tripod.com/javelin_members/index.album/69-bbg-jav?i=12 (http://bigbadamc.tripod.com/javelin_members/index.album/69-bbg-jav?i=12)

So, what is a Big Bad Javelin?
In 1969 and 1970 AMC offered a "Big Bad" color option on its Javelin and AMX.
Thheree colors were available ,Orange ,Green and Blue. The paint codes (found on the driver's door tag) are 2A for BB Blue, 3A for BB Orange, and 4A for BB Green. For 1969, the option included body colored bumpers and special chrome front bumper trim. In 1970, they reverted to all chrome bumpers. Any engine/transmission combo could be ordered with t Big Bad paint option. Adding the "Mod" package got you the simulated sidepipe rocker covers, dual hood scoops and rear roof spoiler.
Not the best photo.
Wow, thanks guys.
:o never knew that , intresting ! thanks for posting :yesnod:
i haven't seen one in years but back in '68 Motor Trend tested spoilers being offered on Pony cars and found they were only effective above 70 MPH,.. The requested spoiler was one of those tested.
Here's a better photo.
I think a number of funny car teams adopted the roof mounted spoiler as well for a time.
that would be the Mag. right there..
I have seen sketches of the Second Gen Charger in the proposal stage where there was another lip spoiler identical to the one on the trunk at the back of the roof,.. I belive it was a felt pen drawing I forget where I saw it now, as it was many yrs. ago.. :shruggy:
I dont remember it and this was AMC land (SE Wi)... but I dont remember lotsa stuff........ ::)
It was only available as part of the MOD Javelin package. Really rare!
It came about during a recent bench racing session with a couple of old pals and I remembered a Javelin when I was in high school with a roof spoiler and my friends didn't recall such a car and insisted that if I saw one, it had to be a custom job. I win nothing but bragging rights but at least I wasn't imagining it.

I remember that the Breedlove 200/600 AMX areo was introduced as a sketch on the cover of Motor Trend in the same issue at the White/red mockup of the Charger Daytona. and as I recall, (it's been quite a while) the Scat Pack ad that had I belive Bobby Hamilton giving feedback, i wanna say june or July of '69...
