I'm still under the impression that all the 500's with the vinyl tops were dealer installed items. Either at the request of the first owner, or just something the dealership decided to do later to try to sell the cars. Kind of like the odd paintings on Daytona's to try to sell them.

I tried to buy those tags, but I was outbid by about $30. I never thought they would go for $280.

Didnt that burnt up Daytona go for like $40,000?  There wasnt anything usable on it but a vin number....  So technically this was a hell of a deal.   ;)

No idea I bid $176. I am surprised the auction ran its full course. Doesn't ebay usually pull those?

Was a known C500. Wasn't anything new, but I was bid out at $250. I wasn't willing to go any higher just to throw the tags in a box. I have no clue who the winning bidder is, but I know it wasn't me.

Someone has to know. I tried asking the seller for information, but never got an answer back.

Anyone else notice the adds on ebay claiming to have interior pieces from a 69 Charger 500 for sale? Blue interior. I questioned that seller as well, and he says they will be listing the shell in August.

Why would you hate it? Its the people who use it that irritate me, not the service they provide.

70charger_boy

I really like the good deals on parts, it's just all the shady sellers on ebay that make me hate it.  Example-I bid on a car and 2 minutes later I get outbid.  When I sell a car, nobody bids on it until the last second.  Plus, you have alot of shady people that will lie lie lie about quality of car :RantExplode:

69_500

There might be a reason that no one bids on a car that your selling. could be a non desireable car, or it could be bad photo's, or a bad advertisement. Or possible that there was more identical cars for sale at the same time. As far as being out bid, that is just part of the auction game. I get out bid on probably 80% of the items I bid on. I know what my limit is, and if someone else is willing to pay more, so be it.

Ghoste

People wait until the last second to bid because even though we all feel resigned to use it, buying through a bidding process is inherantly distasteful.  Who the hell wants to voluntarily pay the most for anything?

69_500

Depends on what item it is. Some items that I desperately want, I'll go ahead and bid a ridiculous amount on to assure that I get them. As in the case for some 500 memorbilia I have. I knew it would take say $80 to get an item, I'd bid $150 just to be on the safe side. Wound up paying around $130 for it. $50 more than I should have, but I wanted it.

69_500

On some things yeah :)

Talked to a HEMI 500 owner tonight. That was a great 2 hours. Okay so he sold the car a few years back, but it was one that we all know. The first 69.

69_500

Seems that its more of his son that regrets the selling of the car, rather than him. I know exactly how that feels too.

He did say that when he first bought the car though, it had the Kelsey hayes wheels on it, but one rim was cracked, so he took it back to the dealership, and they put on the set up hubcaps. He also said that he had the motor taken apart 2 seperate times. whe he first got it he said it ran a little rough, so they tore the motor down then. And actually beefed it up to drag race the car for a time. After a few years he tore it down again to take it back to stock.

Ghoste

This is when it was in New York, correct?
