Title: STARTING PLANNING STAGES OF STEEL DAYTONA PLUG FORM
Post by: daytonalo on October 30, 2015, 10:23:31 PM
I know its been done  for one off parts but I'm on a mission to make Daytona steel plug on a 1/2-3/4 "thick  steel form . I will be working off a Janak fiberglass plug that I will splashing a part off of then using that part to make a 1/2-3/4 steel plug to then make steel plugs from .
As most know I make Daytona/ Superbird /500 Stainless mirror polish as close to OEM A-pillar trim as well as Daytona  /500  die bent trunk hinges as well as NEW Daytona / superbird scissor jacks .
I just worked out the steps on the plug lip which really wasn't that big of deal. I wanted these series of steps all to be completed without welding .
I need a Used beat up Daytona rear window to use to insure the form I make is accurate , if anyone can help I'll make it worth your time .
I figured since the rear Backlite and trim are now available why not build a few plugs .

Having purchased a set of his A-pillar trim and seeing his craftsmanship, I'd be waiting on pins and needles for a plug if my car was not done already. The guy is top shelf.

Hey Larry. A real back glass even beat up might be hard to find. Took me a couple years to find one for my car and it was not cheap. But is very nice. I have a 90's repop back glass I'd sell you if interested. However I'm on the west coast and would hate to ship it. I've compared it to the original and appears the same.

hi Dave. I tried to send a pm but your mailbox is full.  I'm not interested in trying to buy the 500 but would like to know if there's a broadcast sheet in it and if so does it go to that car? I'm missing mine and I would love to find it. my car had a hemi 500 sheet in it and has been returned to its owner. thank you. John.

I have to purchase a set of AMD window trim to proceed with tooling . Can anyone confirm that the AMD Daytona trim actually fits properly on an orig car ? I have to confirm this as making a 1/2 + steel form is a ton of work .
