I've been having thoughts about selling my Hemi with 4 speed Daytona clone . What is a fair number to ask? The car is really nicely done ,top and bottom. Steel nose. Vega plug. white with red stripe and wing . Black interior. Just looking for opinions on what I should try to get for it.

No offense to whoever owns that one,but mine is honestly A lot nicer than that one. It is something to compare to.....
1. You're not nuts....... Life changes and so does preference and desires....... If you have interest in something else or the lack of interest in this current Charger, it is time to sell.
2. Value.......... Will you always get what you want? One NEVER knows until you get into the down-n-dirty...... Believe me, I know....... Some may think a clone as a waste of time, while others value the car for the way it looks and pleases them....
Good luck on your decision........ It is a tough call............ But never look back once made..............

There was no actual bidding going on in this auction, just the seller having a friend place a bid up, car is not worth the money, real ones sometimes do not go that high, sad to say.
If you want to find out what they will pay for your car, put it up, use a reserve and see what happens. It is the only way to know value.
Brian
:'( to hear your considering the sale of you Daytona, but that's a decisions that's all yours....I know the build quality of your car is TOP SHELF, as are the choices made in parts/materials used, your car speaks volumes as far as it presence, it's a desirable combo and color, if it was mine to market, I'd be listing it just a tad under $100K ($92-$96K), as one would be hard pressed to have a clone built by a shop like yours for anything less,...If I had to guessimate what you had into the car dollar wise I'd say $70K minimum, and that's not counting all your labour
Mike
P.S.....yeah your nuts buddy! :nana:
Brian, what gives? Really surprised by this thread. Or, do I see a real Wing car in your future??

Ok a walk around is cool, but if you're advertising a HEMI car, buyers are gonna want to hear that sucker run ! :yesnod:
( I know I would ! )
If you do another video set the camera down near the exhaust ( put it on a 5 gal bucket or something), then get in the car and start her up , let her idle a few, then give her a a couple of revs. If you've got a co-pilot, let him/her hold the camera and go for a short ride to show the power (go through all the gears). Then kick the co pilot out and them take some video of you takin' off ( again showing the buyer the power and acceleration ) .
You got a hemi man, flaunt it !

Did you have your little one in the car with you? I thought I heard "Daddy you crazy!" Just kiddin'
Yep. The little guy was along. He was saying daddy something.
Was he the one holding the camera?
Quote from: WINGIN IT on August 06, 2013, 02:10:24 PM
Was he the one holding the camera?
Nope. The wife was on camera duty in the passenger seat. Seth was just along for the ride. He loves burnouts.
And who doesn't ! :2thumbs:
Was your car originally white or personal preference?
Personal preference induced by having a black 68 before that . It was a pain to keep clean a swirl free and I wanted a color far from that as possible. Plus I have always loved white with red mopars.
Well you can't get much further from black that's for sure, :icon_smile_big:
Definitely can understand the whole black is pain issue, had 2 of them, never again.
I like the white /red color/stripe combo, not a big fan of the red interior on most models though as it always seems like there's too much red. White interior is nice with red paint, and certainly unusual with a white car, but personal preference IMO.
How's the bidding going?
Did it improve with the videos?

Guessing you got higher offers, Kudos ! :2thumbs:
Yes, Brian did get a better offer. My wife and I went to visit him today and his awesome car is now sitting in our garage in Davenport, Iowa. Brian did a fantastic job on this car, and it's a blast to drive.

Thanks a lot for the high praise Brian. It means the world to me that someone appreciates the work I put into this clone. I'm also very happy that the car is in the garage of such as awesome couple of Mopar people who will take impecable care of my creation. Thanks again and I hope I don't have to show against you in the same class at Dubuque!
Hmmm so you did sell it? , so where do you go from here? :scratchchin: i still have faith in the vettetona

The one side of the garage where I made sure there were no tools or anything except posters. Don't know why I'm so paranoid. I've been watching too much TV.
It's amazing the amount of rigs that change hands' here never to see the light of the public's eye.
Nice mudflaps!
Congrats!
Well....I'd say Histoy (Brian?) got a REAL NICE RIDE!, a clone better built than a "real" Daytona, and IMHO better than a "real" Daytona...but what's really eating me is what could Brian (1 no longer Hot Daytona owner :nana:) possibly replace it with?....Hmmmm?

We always put them temporarily on our collector cars whenever we drive them any distance. It looks kind of dorky, but it really helps prevent rock chips.

Yes, I just clipped them on, but today I trimmed them to fit the fender profile better.
